For Someone Special...

>> Monday, February 19, 2024

Hello crafty friends. Thank you for stopping by to check out my card this week.

I really love the look of clean and simple cards and this one really came out better on the card than in my head. For the card:

  • I stamped the FILIGREE BUTTERFLY - 021G three times on a white cardstock.
  • Next, I colored the panel with copics putting the darkest color to the body of the FILIGREE BUTTERFLY - 021G and really lightening up toward the edge.
  • Once colored, I cut the panel down and popped up on dimensionals.
  • For the sentiment, I only used the bottom portion of the SPECIAL BIRTHDAY WISHES GREETING - 018E. I love looking for ways to use my stamps in new ways and using just a portion of this sentiment is a great way to stretch the stamp.
  • The sentiment was also popped up on dimensionals and the panel was finished with some scattered black gems.
I appreciate you taking the time to look at my card. Do you have a favorite color that I used on the butterflies?

Herd It's Your Birthday...

Hello crafty friends. I have a fun birthday card to share today.

I find that I love coloring with pencils on colored card stock. I really love how it pops against the color. For my card today:

  • I stamped the COW CUTIE - 1112F on brown cardstock and stamped the HERD BIRTHDAY GREETING - 1146D directly under it.
  • Next, I colored the image with primsa pencils.
  • Once colored, I die cut it with a Gina Marie die cut and layered on a black card base.

I love the clean and simple look of this fun card.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my card this week.

Fall Birthday Scene

>> Monday, October 30, 2023

I know this image looks like a great fall scene, but I love using images for more than just the intended reason. For my card today, I decided to make this cute fall scene a birthday card.

  1. I started by stamping the PUMPKIN PATCH - 333L on acetate using my Misti to mask the sentiment from the sign.
  2. Next, I placed my card stock in my Misti and added masking paper to the sign area of the card stock.
  3. I then stamped the image on the card stock leaving the masking paper in place so the sentiment would be removed from the image.
  4. I then used the BIRTHDAY MULTI GREETING - 219P and lined up the sentiment by stamping on the acetate so I could line up the sentiment on the sign.
  5. Once the scene was stamped, I colored with copics, cut down the panel and layered on some coordinating orange card stock, and finished with a few scattered orange sequins.
Thank you for stopping by to check out my card this week.

Racking Up Another Birthday

>> Monday, August 7, 2023

I love the billiard images at DRS Designs. They are my go to images for several of my family members as I have a few that play.

For my card:

  • I stamped the POOL CUE, BALL & RACK - 469K on white card stock then I colored it with copics coloring the rack in pink.
  • Next, I stamped the BILLIARD BALLS - 533G and colored that with copics as well.
  • I then cut down both images and layered on the card base using pink to highlight the images. I decided to hang the BILLIARD BALLS - 533G over the edge of the card so I cut the card panel down a quarter of an inch so that the card would still fit a 4.25 by 5.5 envelope.
  • Once the images were glued I added the RACKING UP BIRTHDAY GREETING - 498D in pink to pick up the pink layers and the pink rack.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my card this week.

Toes in the Sand...

>> Monday, July 31, 2023

Oh how I wish I could dip my toes in the sand and water in this image.

For my card:

  • I stamped the first ADIRONDACK CHAIR - 450C as a mirror image using my own tutorial. My tutorial shows how I get a crisp clean stamp using some low tack tape which you can put the image on a tape hinge and stamp it again and again until you get the darkness the way you want it once the image is stamped.
  • Next, I stamped the ADIRONDACK CHAIR - 450C not as a mirror image. When I want to do a mirror image and a regular stamp of the same image I usually do the mirror image first.
  • Once both chairs were stamped I used the TOES IN THE SAND BIRTHDAY GREETING - 980F in between the chairs.
  • I then used copic markers to color in the scene.
  • Once the scene was colored I cut it down and popped it up on dimensionals.

I hope you give mirror image stamping a try. It is really easy once you have done it a few times.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my card this week.

The new S'MORE BIRTHDAY GREETING - 102D is super for some fun birthday cards. I have two cards for you today with this sentiment.

For my first card:

  • I stamped the SMOOSHED S'MORE - 382E on white card stock then colored it with copics.
  • Next, I die cut an aperture on tan card stock and ran it through a swiss dot emboss folder so the dots were debossed.
  • I then used the S'MORE BIRTHDAY GREETING - 102D stamped on white card stock then cut apart with scissors and added some dark brown copic around the edges. The sentiment was popped up on dimensionals.

For my second card:

This SPECIAL PERSON BIRTHDAY GREETING - 108G is absolutely perfect to send to so many wonderful friends and family.

For today's card:

  • I used the FLOWER BORDER - 1076H to create an angled boarder on my card. I first stamped the border on one angle then masked the flowers and stamped it again on the other angle.
  • Next, I stamped the SPECIAL PERSON BIRTHDAY GREETING - 108 above the flower boarder.
  • I then fussy cut the flowers and colored them with copics.
  • The flowers were finished with gold stickles in the centers and the panel was popped up on dimensionals.

Birthday Bubbles

>> Monday, January 30, 2023

I wanted to try to create my own bubbles. I am so thrilled at how these came out. I followed this YouTube tutorial Anyone Can Draw this: Bubbles
  • I started out using a circle stencil and drew the circles directly on the black card stock with a white pencil.
  • Next, I used green. blue, pink and yellow to add some shading and color to the bubbles.
  • Once the bubbles were colored in I used white acrylic paint and added more highlights.
  • I finished the card front using the largest Happy Birthday sentiment from the BIRTHDAY MULTI GREETING - 219P and white heat embossed it.
This was so much fun and so easy to create and can be used for so many fun sentiments in the DRS Designs shop.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my card this week.

Happy 21st Birthday

>> Monday, January 23, 2023

Many of my son's friends are turning 21 this year and I need to get a few cards made for them. The SMALL BEER MUG - 528C is perfect for making a quick 21st birthday card.

I really love how quick this came together and I could very easily swap the SMALL BEER MUG - 528C  for the wine glass from the POUR ME..BOTTLE AND GLASS - 075H to give it a whole new look to the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my card this week.

It's Your Birthday...

>> Monday, January 16, 2023

I can never have enough birthday cards. Today's card uses several stamps from DRS Designs.

Have you ever tried to create a silhouette with your stamps? It gives them a whole new look and is really easy to do especially if you are not in to coloring images.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my card this week.

Birthday Wishes

>> Monday, December 19, 2022

I love looking for ways to use stamps in more than one way. For this card I decided to again use just part of a sentiment. I used the SPECIAL BIRTHDAY WISHES GREETING - 018E and only used the top portion of the stamp for the focal sentiment on my card.

  • I used the SPECIAL BIRTHDAY WISHES GREETING - 018E and stamped it on white card stock then die cut the banner and left the card stock in the die cut and sponged some pink to add highlights on the banner.
  • I then found a few different balloon die cuts in my stash and cut them out of pink, purple and then cut the 50 out of a gold mirror card stock.
  • The 50 was popped on dimensionals as well as the SPECIAL BIRTHDAY WISHES GREETING - 018E and the card was finished with some scattered gold sequins.
Thank you for stopping by to check out my card this week.

Birthday Butterfly

>> Monday, June 6, 2022

I just love this new FILIGREE BUTTERFLY - 021G. It is great for any occasion card. Today I have used it for a very clean and simple birthday card.

  • For the card base I sponged yellow and blue and blended them in the center together. I then added a strip of white glitter paper under the colors.
  • I then sponged the yellow and blue on white card stock and then stamped the FILIGREE BUTTERFLY - 021G over the sponged color.
  • Once the FILIGREE BUTTERFLY - 021G was stamped i fussy cut it and glued the center over the center of the glitter paper then added dimensionals to the ends of the wings.
  • The BIRTHDAY MULTI GREETING - 219P had the perfect sentiment to stamp under the butterfly.
  • The card was finished with 3 gems.
Thank you for stopping by to check out my card this week.

Happy Birthday!

>> Thursday, June 2, 2022

 Good morning!

Today I've used the Barn Door with the Wood Grain Background to make a barn for Cow Cutie ol' Betsie!   Some how she got out of her enclosure and now she's looking for some fun!

I used the Herd It's Your Birthday at the top.

For the inside I used part of Saddle Up Birthday and  Cow Cutie.  I also added some pearl halves.

These cows are out to party tonight!

My next card uses several stamps to make a scene...I just love scene building, don't you?

This type of scene card takes quite a bit of masking and so to figure out which stamps I want to stamp first I stamp everything on a scrap paper (not worrying about over-stamping each image). That helps me to figure it all out.  Then I stamp mask on Post-it paper and cut them out.

Thanks for visiting!

Herd It's Your Birthday

>> Monday, May 9, 2022

Oh my gosh I am so in love with this new Cow Cutie.

  • I sponged the clouds on the panel with distress ink.
  • Next, I found a Gina Marie tractor die cut for the scene.
  • The grass is a Memory Box die cut.
  • I then stamped and colored the Cow Cutie with copics.
  • I finished the front of the card with the HERD BIRTHDAY GREETING.

For the inside of the card I used a black copic marker and doodled some cow marks then stamped the UDDER-LY WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY GREETING.

Oh, the fun possibilities of this cow.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my card this week.

It's Your Birthday

>> Thursday, May 5, 2022

 Good morning!

So today I used a barn die, grass punch, circle punch and barbed wire fence die to use with our udder-ly wonderful Cow Cutie
I used a piece of torn paper towel to make clouds in the sky (sponging over the torn part).  Then I stamped Herd It's Your Birthday over the clouds.
My Cow Cutie was fussy cut then placed in the scene.
She has a little bit of white gel pen in her eye for a twinkle.

My next card uses a scarecrow in the corn...the Cow Cuties  are in there too munching
on whatever corn they can find!!
Those cows need to come home!!! No more partying in the corn!

So this card has 2 Cow Cuties stamped, one in the background stamped directly on the card and 1 stamped on scrap then fussy cut.
My sentiment Saddle Up Birthday was stamped on the card.
Also used was a circle punch and grass border punch.

Thanks for visiting today! Now go get crafty!!

Ever since I can remember, my aunt's favorite animal  is an elephant and I know she would love this card for her birthday.

  • I stamped JUNGLE JIM THE ELEPHANT - 842K on white card stock and colored with copics.
  • Once colored I fussy cut the image.
  • Next, I die cut the center circle and popped the frame up on dimensionals.
  • I added the largest greeting from BIRTHDAY MULTI GREETING - 219P to the frame.
  • I then finished off the card with a few punched balloons that were colored with copics and tied them together with bakers twine.
Thank you for stopping by to check out my card this week.

Racking Up another Birthday!

>> Monday, May 17, 2021

Happy Monday once again. I have another billiard's birthday card to share with you. I started with a green piece of CS and sponged some Rustic Wilderness around the edges working my way in to make the center area lighter. I was hoping it would look like the green felt on a pool table. Not so sure I accomplished that look, but it's close. Next I stamped the Billiard Balls in the four corners using the same Rustic Wilderness ink. The Racking Up another Birthday greeting wa stamped with black ink and die cut with a MFT banner die. The Pool Cue, Ball and Rack image was stamped onto white CS, colored with Copics, fussy cut and glued into the center of the card. This was an easy card to create and you could customize the pool cue and ball for the recipient. I like images that you can personalize.

Thanks for stopping by today.

blessings,

shelia
