Background was done with the shaving cream/ink marbling technique.  It's been a long time since I've done that one so I'm not at all sure I did it right but I did get a few usable, good smelling backgrounds out of it!! LOL!

Freedom Thoughts

Hoping you have great July 4th plans!  I plan to see a parade, eat some barbeque and crawfish, and take a big nap.  I have an independence/freedom card to share with you.  It was inspired by THIS lovely card made by CAR372 at Splitcoaststampers.com. 

I let paint drip down some paper to acheive the stripes then die cut the net and stamped/fussy cut the Filigree Butterflies.  To underscore the freedom theme, I added in the Let Freedom Ring greeting.  

With us emerging from Covid restrictions in the U.S. and with the political unrest around the world, this card seems especially appropriate.

Sparkle

 

I am working ahead for a 4th of July card. The 4TH OF JULY SPARKLE GREETING - 1014F is wonderful paired with STARS AND STRIPES BORDER - 938P.

• I first masked the strips on the STARS AND STRIPES BORDER - 938P and added blue ink to the stars. Using my Misti I stamped the stars.
• Next, I masked the stars and used red ink on the strips and used the Misti to keep the stamp in place and stamped the strips.
• Once the border was done, I used the same blue ink on the 4TH OF JULY SPARKLE GREETING - 1014F.
• I then added some blue ink splatters to the front of the card and added several gems over some splatters and the Sparkle word.
• I layered the panel on a blue card stock then the white card base.

Stars and Stripes Forever!

Good morning!

Just in time for the 4th.

A heroes patriotic card for our heroes who fought the fight of freedom so the rest of us celebrate our our independence.

Here's to our stars and stripes!

I used DRS Designs stamps: Stars and Stripes Forever and Silhouette Soldiers.

I fussy cut the soldiers and separated them to go on each side of the sentiment.

I used a die from Spellbinders to make the stripes and an embossing folder from Cuttlebug

using the letter press technique for the stars.

The silver balls and corners are stickers.

I 

I used a Misti to get the silhouette really black and solid using VersaFine Claire Nocturn.

Star, Sparkle, Banner!

Good morning!

I went wild with the stamps this morning, lol!

I decided to do a good old country cowboy 4th of July

celebration for both cards.

Every town in America has their own way to celebrate

and I would imagine that there are plenty of cowboy towns

where a big pot luck and country dance is how they celebrate.

I like the couple's matching outfits and denim boots, how about you?

I have a thing about cowboy boots, they are actually the only "dress shoes" I have.

You can imagine that I have lots of boots in about every color I wear plus a few brown type

with different designs.  I DO have a pair of denim blue boots, love them.

I used some threaded star buttons to embellish this card.  No dies used,

just a cutter and score-it.  I also used some glitter pens and a dot of Stickles to enhance the stars (you can't really see that in the photos, sorry.

In our town, because we have a mountain lake near by, we do the all day picnic and watch the fireworks at the lake reflecting off the lake, especially fun to watch in the lake on a boat.

Because we have had so many fires all around in recent years they do no fireworks but

people still have their picnics at the lake.

My next card is a patriotic tribute to those country

cowboys who helped to make this country free

by hanging up their hats for a bit (or forever) and serving

their country to fight for us.

I used a star embossing folder with a letter press technique for the background

and to add something more I cut some red strips.  The sentiment was cut 

apart using the bottom half for the pennant under the image and cutting out

the U.S.A. to curve above the image.  I did use a glitter pen

on the U.S.A. as well.  The die is from My Favorite Things.

Red, White & Blue Heroes 🇺🇸

 Happy Friday!

I hope your week has gone well! Nothing says summer like the 4th of July holiday! Too bad most of the usual fireworks & parades will not be held this year. Since I'm not likely to see any fireworks (unless someone nearby starts firing them off), I put some on my card.

Just recently I rec'd this new set of fireworks dies & thought they would look great w/ these soldier silhouettes. I first arranged 3 of the set like you see, & die cut them, making sure to leave enough room for the soldiers. Then I put it into my Misti & stamped them several time w/ the Paris dusk ink. After I added the greeting, I used a fine line red pen to add just a little outline to the word Hero. 

Then I had to find something to go behind the fireworks cut outs. Nothing really seemed right to me, so I sponged on some of the red & blue Distress inks then used a white Posca pen to make the white scribbles. The scattering of stars were added across the top.

Happy 4th of July!

Hello Everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. My card today is in honor of the USA's upcoming Independence Day celebration. I found this fireworks stencil and thought it would go perfectly with DRS Designs' new 4th of July greeting. Plus for many of us these may be the only fireworks we get to see this year. My town cancelled the fireworks for the 4th. Kind of disappointing, but then most everything is rather crazy right now.

Here's my card.

I started with the blue CS panel and used some embossing paste with the stencil. While that dried I stamped and die cut the new 4th of July Sparkle greeting. To add a little more sparkle to the card, I added some Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen to the word Sparkle. Everything was glued onto a white card base. This was super easy to create once the stenciling was dry.

Tea Bags, Soldiers, and Nurses

Hello crafty friends!

My first card today is made with a tea bag. After the tea dried, I cut up the bg and used gesso to attach it  to my card stock.  Then I inked up some acetate, misted it with water and kind of swiped it across the tea bag paper.  Give it a  cool look.  Then I stamped the Silhouette Soldiers in my MISTI a few times.  Added in some Patriotic Bunting and birds from the 4 in 1 In the Sky stamp.  I also added in a Tim Holtz circle stamped with the Made in U.S.A. Circle.

Also, DRS has some great new images coming this week.  This card was made with new A Nurse Brings... sentiment.

Patriotic Party Time

I am feeling a like we may need a little more patriotism, fun, and sparkle these days in America.  Too many depressing things going on.  We need to lift our spirits.

Today's card is made with the new Patriotic Bunting, Star Streamers, and 4th of July Sparkle Greeting.  I made several blue and red ink/spray/smash backgrounds.  Then I stamped the bunting a bunch of times and cut them out.  I cut some of the sections apart and layered the for more depth.  Then I made rosettes by putting them together and using the Made in U.S.A Circle stamp or a punched star. 

Hope you are finding some Sparkle wherever you are and whatever is going on.

Summer Cards

Hi Everyone,

We had a good heat spell last week, and since that really put me in a summer time mood, I'm celebrating the upcoming warm season with these two cards.

This underwater scene was inspired by Shelia's card with all of her colorful fish! I stamped, colored and fussy cut a few fish, along with some shells and seaweed for the bottom of the ocean floor.  Speaking of the floor, that was created with some sandy colored glitter flock, and I attached it to a background that was sponged with various blue inks.  Along with the die cut greeting, I added some punched greenery to the ocean floor.

This card celebrates my favorite summer holiday, and this year we can all use a little sparkle in our lives, don't you think?

4th of July Sparkle Greeting, which I embellished with a few gems to match the strip of silver glitter.

Sparkling July 4th 🇺🇸

 Happy Friday!

I hope your week has gone well! Won't be long until Independence Day! It would be great if we could all have an Independence Day from this awful virus, too. But that will probably have to wait a little longer. 

For my card today, I stamped the bunting across the top, masked it then stamped the star streamers. That left room for my greeting & a fussy cut & popped up patriotic heart. Instead of my usual stickles, I added a little brush on glue & real glitter to all the stars. Now I remember why I like stickles so much..thanks for reminding me, glitter. Good job 👍🏻 on glittering every thing in my room!

Sparkling 4th of July!

Good morning!

Time to start thinking of our celebration coming up,

our nation's freedom.

My first card features DRS new sentiment stamp

4th of July Sparkle.

I used a star die from Sizzix and a border from Heartfelt Creations.

My next card uses the same sentiment stamp, the Shooting Star and the Patriotic Heart as well.

I've used one of my favorite sketches for this card and a bunch of pretty

glitter paper.

The black base was created putting gold acrylic paint on a fireworks emboss folder and running through my big shot.

The Here's Hoping sentiment was gold sparkle heat embossed and die cut then popped on dimensionals.

I hope your week has gone well! We've had some unusual weather for the first week of May..2 nights (so far) of freeze warnings! And highs only in the upper 50's. I'm sure the tropical plants I drug out of the garage a couple of weeks ago are not going to be happy. 

For my card today, I'm using a new soldiers silhouette image. I know these will look great as a dark silhouette, but I wanted to see how they'd look if I used another (inked) image to ink them. It's an old technique called "stamp kissing". I used the stars & stripes border to ink the silhouettes (I put them in my Misti so I could do it more than once). I like how they turned out..as if they're draped in the stars & stripes. I separated the greeting, above & below, & used the same inks to stamp them. The piece down the side is a piece of sticky back paper w/ red, white & blue narrow strips stuck to it. The lower section has stars stamped w/ white. Just to add a little something extra, I also punched some stars & added them to the soldiers & also a couple on the bg.

On the inside I stamped the stars & stripe border onto a sort of triangular piece & added it down the left side.
