Are You Cured Yet?

>> Monday, March 25, 2024

While cleaning up my craft room, I came across this emboss folder and thought oh...it looks like a blanket. Well, I just had to use it for a card and thought this image was perfect for it.

For the card:

  • I stamped LEONARD PIG SICKDAY BLUES - 1019G and colored the image up with copics.
  • Next, I stamped just a portion of the CURED YET? GREETING - 1015E sentiment. This is my way of stretching my stamps. I love using just portions of them.
  • I then cut down the layers and popped the sentiment up on dimensionals.
  • I finished the card with a few scattered buttons.
Thank you for stopping by to check out my card this week. I hope you have a fun crafty week.

Easter Trio

>> Sunday, March 24, 2024

Hello Crafty Friends,

Easter is a week away and I have some last-minute card ideas for you today.

My first card is a fun one that was inspired by THIS cute card done by Cristena who is the Featured Stamper at Splitcoaststampers.com this week.

I water-colored the sky and background grass and stamped the Brush Pussy Willow and painted them as well. Then I stamped Vicki's Versatile Background on some white paper and then cut the paper into fence posts.  I used a little leftover water-colors to add more interest and then sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo.  For the critters, I stamped the Tails Up Bunny and Easter Ears Leonard the Pig, fussy cut them, and water-colored them as well.  I removed the egg from Leonard's arms and ticked him in the fence.  My banner was a bit boring so I got the Stickles out and fixed that.  The glitter was speaking to me and I used it in a few more places as well - lol. I finished it off with a part of the 1 Line Easter Blessing Greeting

My next card features the Flower Cross Image and the Sending You Sunshine Greeting

I sketched and painted the tulips and wreath, stamped the cross and painted it, and then added in gold dots with some gold paint.  I was aiming for shabby chic so I distressed the panel with white acrylic paint and some Distress Ink.

My last card was easier than it looks and features the Small Rejoice Greeting
I water-colored the flowers on the egg and added in Stickles to make it more festive.  I followed THIS video to learn how to do this.

Hoping you are having a wonderful week.

Hugz,

Nancy

A Little St. Pat's Day Mischief

>> Wednesday, February 28, 2024

St. Patrick's Day always screams fun and mischief to me, so my card today is full of both.

I stamped the Hat Full of Shamrocks and We Bit Irish Greeting on watercolor paper before watercoloring them with Watercolor markers.  To add fun and mischief, I stamped Leonard the Pig Dance of Joy and painted him green too. I also stamped the hat image one more time and fussy cut one little shamrock that Leonard picked (for the mischief part).  Inside I added Shamrocks & Shenanigans and another green Leonard.

Hope your week is going well.  I am one day away from retirement, so I am super excited.

Hugz,

Nancy

Cupig Strikes Again

>> Friday, January 19, 2024

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Friday!

For my card today, I was inspired by THIS Valentine's Wreath Tutorial.  I painted my own version on this card along with a hand drawn border (I used one of my credit cards to get the rounded edges - lol). To finish off this simple wreath, I added one of my favorite DRS Designs images - Cupig.

The minute I added him, I fell in love with this card.  He is just so fun.

I hope you are staying warm!

Hugz,

Nancy

Missing You!

>> Thursday, July 27, 2023

 Hello friends!

Today I'm wishing to be somewhere much cooler than where I am so the only place guaranteed to be at least 20 degrees cooler than here is the coast.

Leonard is flying his kite where it is almost always windy (he has been here before and always brings his kite with him!).

I used DRS stamps: Missing you Pig Time, Leonard Flies a Kite, Sea Grass, Sailboat, Seaside Dock, and 4 in 1 Ocean Designs.

I actually did not have to mask anything except when coloring the sky with ink-blending brushes.
I stamped the sentiment separately and die cut with an HC die then fishtailed the end.
I also stamped Leonard separately so that I could pop him up. I then took a ruler and drew a new kite string for the kite.

I used some white gel pen on the closer birds and on the waves around the boats.
I also used some paint pens on the water reflection to help the color show more.
The images are colored with a combo of Copic Markers and Olo Markers.
Thanks for visiting today!

Happy Birthday

>> Tuesday, April 25, 2023

Hi Everyone,

This new Mr. Earl's Happy Birthday greeting is perfect for anyone's birthday.  The big, chunky letters make it super fun to color and I love the star that dots the "i"!

That star was the inspiration for my background that I made using a star embossing folder and the Interlocking Star Background.

Who's more festive than our own Birthday Party Pig?  No one! So of course, he had to make an appearance on my card.  I did a bit of fussy cutting and added some glitter to his balloon too.

Thanks for stopping by!

Spotlight on Graduation

>> Wednesday, April 19, 2023

Graduation Season is upon us.  I have 3 grand-nieces/nephews graduating so I need to get to making some grad cards!

The back panel of this card was made by scoring lines and then dragging ink pads down the paper.  Such a fun technique.  You can use any color or mix them.

On the image panel, I used Graduating Pig and River Rocks & Fence Line 2 in 1 using watercolors to color them up.  For my sentiment, I cut up the new Special Person Birthday Greeting cutting out the birthday part and using the last line on the inside.  It still needed something, so I used this CTMH circle die to spotlight Leonard.  Super fun!

Hope you are having a wonderful week so far.

Hugz,

Nancy

May The Light Always Find You on a Dreary Day

>> Wednesday, March 15, 2023

 Hello Crafty Friends,

After weeks of wearing shorts here in Alabama, we got below freezing the last few nights.  We are weather babies so it has been tough. I know a lot of people are having snow and rain so I thought I would create some positive weather vibes for us all today.

This was a super quick card. The base and the ATC were stamped with the Mountain and Treeline 2 in 1 Scene.  I quickly colored up the ATC with watercolors and just splattered the base with the leftover paint.  Leonard Pig Flies a Kite was stamped, colored and popped up along with his kite.  The words are from the Frog in your Pants Greeting (just the first line was used on the front - I put the rest of it on the inside).

Wishing you  better weather today.

Hugz,

Nancy

Everybunny

>> Tuesday, February 28, 2023

 Hi Everyone,

I fully intended to make another St. Patrick's Day card this past weekend, but I came across Leonard the pig wearing his cute bunny ears, so I made an Easter card instead.

I stamped and colored up a bunch of Easter Eggs with bows and attached the panel to a piece of yellow paper that I tore along the one side.  I feel like that torn paper was a big card technique a few years ago, so why not bring it back :)

The card background was dry embossed with eggs as well, and I added the Happy Easter Everybunny Greeting on a strip.  Leonard was colored and fussy cut and added with some dimensional foam tape.

Looking at my finished card, it's hard to not want to add an embellishment of some sort.  Glitter, gems, or....?  Well, I managed to stop myself and call it done for a change.  I need to let the cute stamps speak for themselves!

Happy stamping Friends!

Karin

Cupig Strikes Again

>> Wednesday, January 11, 2023

 Hello Crafty Friends,

Hope you saw Karin's fabulous card with the Cupig image yesterday.  He is making an appearance again today as he is one of my favorite images and love is in the air.

After stamping the image, I colored it up with watercolors and a bit of Dazzling Diamonds.  For the  background, I used my leftover watercolors and a die from Close To My Heart (the die cut it is supposed to be the moon - lol).   I finished it off with the very sweet Love You to the Moon Greeting.

I need to get a bunch of Valentine's Day cards done and this is a good start.

Hugz,

Nancy

Hogs and Kisses

>> Tuesday, January 10, 2023

Hi Everyone,

I'm on my way to celebrating the next big card making holiday with today's card.  I think we may be ready for it sooner rather than later, since my husband wanted to stop by the local chocolate shop this past weekend.  Not sure how I managed to resist the temptation, but I said after all the Christmas eating, we need to wait for Valentine's at least!

This "Cupig" is just a favorite stamp for making Valentines.  He's cute, easy to color and I love being able to add glitter to his little wings!  I attached him with some dimensional tape to some layered die cut circles and added the Hogs and Kisses Greeting to match.

The background was created using the Interlocking Hearts, and an embossing folder of lips to match the kisses portion of the sentiment.  A punched border and a row of gems finished it off.

If you need to get started on Valentine's cards, DRS Designs has all the stamps you need in the online store!

Happy Stamping!
Karin

Congratulations Grad!

>> Monday, September 12, 2022

I am slowly trying to build up my graduation cards again. It seems as soon as I make one it is already out the door.

  •  For this card, I used the fun GRADUATION PIG - 567E stamped on white card stock then colored with copics. I then layered it on gold foil designer paper.
  •  The sentiment I just used a portion of the GRAD SAYING - 622G and white heat embossed it on the lower portion of the card to keep it very clean and simple.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my card this week.

Happy Birthday

>> Tuesday, September 6, 2022

 Hi Everyone,

When it comes to cardmaking, September is a heavy birthday month for me.  It would be great if I planned ahead, but since my good intentions usually fail, my cards tend toward a simple design.

I stamped the Wordy Birthday Greeting in black, orange and red ink, adding some yellow sponging around the die cut. I attached the sentiment at an angle to an embossed cupcake background and added the fussy cut Birthday Party Pig.

To finish it off, I added a few punched stars for a confetti like embellishment :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Hula Pig

>> Thursday, August 11, 2022

 Good morning crafty friends!

Isn't this cute!  I wanted to use this shell embossing folder today, so I made a beachy card.

I used DRS Design stamps: Hula Pig and 4 in 1 Ocean Designs.
I drew a wave action for piggy and a horizon line for the boats.  The palm trees are a die from Maryanne Designs.
The waves have a combo of texture paste and glitter.
So, I had a lot of fun making this card today with all the beachy elements and I'm sure that
I'll be thinking up some more fun things to do with these stamps in future!
Until next time, keep crafting on!

Happy Easter Everybunny!

>> Monday, April 11, 2022

Easter is fast approaching, and a fun bunny card is perfect to send to anyone. For my card today I first stamped EASTER EARS LEONARD PIG - 858G then masked the image. Next, I stamped VINCENT VAN BUNNY - 396L and CUTE BUNNY WITH EGG - 702D.

Once the scene was stamped, I used the HAPPY EASTER EVERYBUNNY - 048D sentiment. To get the sentiment all in a line, I stamped the Happy Easter portion first then used a piece of acetate and lined up the Everybunny where it needed to be on the card front. Once I had it lined up correctly, I removed the acetate and stamped just the "Everybunny!" portion of the sentiment.

I then colored up the scene with copics and layered on the teal.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my card this week. I hope Everybunny has a wonderful week.

Happy Easter Peeps

>> Thursday, March 31, 2022

 Good morning friends!

I've made 2 Easter easel cards today.  This first one features

Easter Ears Leonard Pig.  I used him with a really cute Tulip embossing folder on the front.  I actually embossed it twice, once white and once pink then cut out the ribbon only from white and glued it to the pink for more interest.

Leonard is cut out with a stitched oval from Rubbernecker, popped up and glued to the embossed panel in the non embossed space between tulips.

For the inside I used the same oval die set and popped up the sentiment Easter Greetings
I added 4 mat enamel dots to the corners that show when the card is open and on display.

My next card features the Simple Easter Bunny.
I also used the Jelly Bean Jumble Background for the front and inside.
The little Nuvo Drops all around the circles reminds me of candy we had as a kids, Candy Dots on a strip of paper...you ate them right off the paper, yes weird!

The sentiment inside is Favorite Easter Peeps and die cut.  I stayed with the candy dot
designs and matted with yellow then purple/lavender.

I hope you are inspired today.  Go get crafty!

Robin

For Someone Special

>> Tuesday, March 8, 2022

Hi Everyone,

Every March 12th, 22nd, 23rd, 26th and 30th important people in my life have a birthday.  They show up every year, same time same month, as birthdays do.  You would think I would be prepared and make cards ahead of time.  Nope.  It's March 8th and I've made one.  I know I still have some time, but how, HOW(!) am I not ahead of things. (She shakes her head in clear disappointment in herself)

Anyhow, these cute piggies came to my rescue when I was searching for a design. They definitely make me smile.

I stamped Leonard Pig Blowing Bubbles and then colored the background scene using a pointillism technique, just lots of dots using different blue and green markers.  I then added Leonard Pig Behind the Bubble, which was fussy cut before attaching with dimensional foam tape. I added some glossy effects to the bubbles to make them shine and added the Sending You a Smile sentiment with a flower embellishment.

Inside I stamped the pig again and added the Delightful Suprises Birthday Greeting.

DRS Designs has this sweet Sunflower Bucket image, so I made a simple card that really needs no explanation.

Well, that's one birthday card down, 4 more to go before the end of the month!

Wishing you all peace, love and happiness!
Karin

Cupig and Heartbeats

>> Wednesday, February 9, 2022

One last Valentine's Day card!

I could't resist playing with Cupig.  He is one of my favorite DRS stamps. I paired him up with the new Heartbeat and With Every Beat of My Heart.  Once I had Cupig stamped, colored and cut, the rest of the card was some quick sponging and stenciling (snow stencil on the base and Stamperia pipes stencil on the little panel - not sure why - lol).

I love when Lisa goes all out on the pink so I did today too.

Hope you are ready for Valentine's Day.

Hugz,

Nancy
