Thank You

>> Tuesday, January 2, 2024

Hi Everyone,

I'm still working on my holiday thank you notes, and since the Blizzard of Thanks Greeting was still on my worktable from this card, I used it for this one as well.

I used the Interlocking Snow Background stamp on my blue base and stamped, colored and fussy cut Stretch the Round Button Snowman

Instead of just a using a regular die to cut the sentiment, I chose a speech bubble for my snowman image because it seemed to make the card a bit more fun.  A few random snowflakes were added to play off the word blizzard, and then I called it done.

Hope your new year is off to a great start!

Karin

Hello Winter

>> Tuesday, December 26, 2023

Hi Everyone,

Today's super simple card is for when you're flat out of time and need to make something quick.  Which is me.  All the time during the holidays!

I stamped some of the Simple Pine Trees for the background and added a couple of die cut deer.  I made the new Hello Winter Greeting into a banner and attached it to the top, along with a few tiny snowflakes.

I told you it was simple.

I hope you got everything on your stamping wish list for the holidays!  If not, just buy it yourself right here!

Thanks for visiting,
Karin

Merry Christmas

>> Monday, December 25, 2023

Thank you for stopping by to check out my card this week. I used the wonderful SMALL NATIVITY SCENE - 696D as it is perfect for today. I stamped it and colored it with copics. I then die cut a gold frame and heat embossed the CHRISTMAS STAR MERRY CHRISTMAS - 933F with gold emboss powder. The star was finished with a single gem.

From the entire DRS Designs team, we would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas.

Hello Winter! Shaker

>> Thursday, December 21, 2023

 Hello friends!

I love the little snow globe look so today I've used Snow Globe then cut out the globe part so that I could create a shaker.

I used a die set from Sizzix showing a little village scene then added shaker elements.

Of course I used acetate in the opening.  The whole globe needed a frame to bring it all together with a brown that sort of matches the globe base and some of the houses.

I also used the sentiment Hello Winter.

Thanks for visiting today!

Snowflakes

>> Tuesday, December 19, 2023

Hi Everyone,

Here are my super quick projects that I've made this month.  I'm always running late or whipping something up last minute, so these are both crazy simple.

I needed a thank you card for my cousin who invited us over for dinner, and the Blizzard of Thanks is my go-to stamp this time of year.   I paired that up with the Snow Background, and added a punched snowflake and rounded corners and was able to write something personal inside in about 20 minutes...I think that included addressing the envelope too :)

My friend's son was performing in his 8th grade band concert, so I need a bag to hold his congratulatory gift card and sweets.  Now that my husband works from home and doesn't have to take a sack lunch, I have a bunch of brown bags in my pantry.  I used the same Snow Background stamp along with the Small Happy Holidays Greeting to transform the brown bag into something a bit more festive and I hope not too girly.  (Sorry for the ragged ribbon edges...I told you I was in a hurry!)

The countdown to the big day is definitely here and I'm feeling the squeeze...I hope you holiday prep is going smoothly!

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Poinsettia

>> Monday, December 18, 2023

This new SMALL SCRIPT MERRY CHRISTMAS - 272E is fast becoming a go to sentiment in my collection. It is a great size and perfect for any style Christmas card.

For my card today:

  • I used a small poinsettia die cut and cut a cluster from red, green and gold mirror paper. I then die cut a white panel to layer the poinsettia and finished with a pearl.
  • I then stamped the SMALL SCRIPT MERRY CHRISTMAS - 272E and then layered the poinsettia cluster just above it on a dimensional.

This card is very clean and simple and really packs a punch with just the perfect sentiment to fit perfectly under the cluster.

Thank you for stopping by to check out my card this week.

Christmas Eve

>> Thursday, December 14, 2023

Hello crafty friends!

We have Christmas Eve here and Santa with his reindeer are just coming into view!
He must be flying over central park with the New York city scape in the bg...well, that is my view anyway (even though I live across the country from New York, LOL!

as well as some Memory Box dies.
I added a red rhinestone to the reindeer's nose.
The sky was sponged and then splattered with white paint.

I used a circle punch to make a moon mask then sponged it in, masked it then sponged the sky after stamping the reindeer and masking it.

I used a very pale yellow paper behind all the buildings for the windows (you can barely tell in the photos but it's there).
That's about it!
Thanks for visiting today!!

Christmas Barns

>> Wednesday, December 13, 2023

 Hello Crafty Friends!

This past weekend, we went to Nashville and drove by hundreds of barns and old farm houses.  That inspired me to make some Christmas cards with barn doors and the new Berries and Bow Christmas Decoration image stamp along with the Small Script Merry Christmas greeting.

I stamped the image and greeting on both cards and then sketched out and water-colored the door.  The colors on this first card were inspired by THIS cool card by Dawn at Splitcoaststampers.com.

This colors on this one were inspired by the colors on our small barn.
Hope your Christmas decorating, and cards are going well.  I need to get to the post office and mail my last batch this week.

Hugz,

Nancy

Beautiful Season

>> Tuesday, December 12, 2023

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to make another card using the new Berries & Bow Christmas Decoration stamp, so I decided to match it up with the Beauty of the Season Christmas Greeting. I measured out my card and chose to use these oval die cuts, however I thought I would have to cancel my idea due to getting a smudge on my berries image.  I simply ended up coloring and fussy cutting the berries and was able to proceed.

An easy to mail flat card, I simply added an embossed snowflake background and a strip of printed ribbon.

Hope you are able to enjoy the beauty of the season!

Leaping Deer

>> Monday, December 11, 2023

Hello crafty friends. I finally had a chance to use this great new Leaping Deer - 276H image. Oh, how I love this great deer image. I actually have two cards to share this week with this wonderful image.

For my first card today:

For my second card:
  • I stamped the Leaping Deer - 276H  and the THINKING OF YOU AT CHRISTMAS GREETING - 183D and heat embossed them with gold glitter embossing powder.
  • Next, I cut several strips of mirror gold to create more interest to the card.
  • I then punched several snowflakes and layered them giving them dimension and finished them with stickles.
On this card really shines.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my cards this week.

Leaping Reindeer

>> Thursday, December 7, 2023

 Hello crafting friends!

Today I've used this beautiful Leaping Reindeer and fun Simple Pine Trees in pale sponged colors. The Small Script Merry Christmas is also new from DRS.

For the base layer I used a snowflake stitch background die from Lawn Fawn and a stitched frame die also from Lawn Fawn.

The stitched banner for the sentiment is from Impression Obsession.

I popped up the frame and sentiment.
This card was very fast and easy!

Quick Watercolor Christmas/Winter Cards

>> Wednesday, December 6, 2023

Hello Crafty Friends.

I have been playing around with some simple water colors and these three very fun new stamps from DRS Designs:  Small Script Merry Christmas, Hello Winter,  and Simple Pine Trees.  The Design Team has been rocking cards using them and for some reason they keep calling to me.

On this one, I just stamped the images and did some quick water color washes, some shadows, and a bit of green and decorations in the trees.   I finished it off with a bit of SnowTex.

On this one, I stamped the two images and did some more minimal watercolor.  I had some watercolor leftover so I stenciled in some larger snowflakes.  I finished it off with a splatter of paint and Snowtex.
Two super easy and fast cards. Something we all probably need as Christmas is speeding toward us.

Hugz,

Nancy

Happy Holidays

>> Tuesday, December 5, 2023

 Hi Everyone,

I've used the new Leaping Reindeer stamp on my card share for today.  It's such a lovely image that evokes the traditional feelings of the Santa/Rudolph story of Christmas for me.  Of course, it just occurred to me now that I should have given him a red nose!  See?  Now I have an idea for the next card!

I ended up getting a smudge on my paper when coloring my deer, so I simply fussy cut him and attached him to a die cut and embossed square.  I also embossed the background with snowflakes and added a die cut tree, embellishing it with some gems.  Woo-boy do I have a lot of gems in my stash. I must have shopped a massive sale at some point in my life...lol.

After attaching the image panel, I added the Small Happy Holidays Greeting using my punches, along with a punched snowflake to finish it off.

Thanks for visiting today!

Merry Christmas

>> Monday, December 4, 2023

This new Simple Pine Trees 285E is just perfect for adding some quick trees to your cards. I have two cards to share today.

For my first card:

  • I started the card with sponging teal on a white card stock.
  • Next, I stamped the Simple Pine Trees 285E several times across the panel with versamark ink then white heat embossed the trees.
  • I then used some scissors and fussy cut some snow hills and popped the top one up on dimensionals.
  • The top hill is stamped with the new Small Script Merry Christmas 272E in teal to match the sponged teal.
  • I finished the hills with stickles and added some white gel pen to the sky and additional stickles to the white gel pen.
For my second card:

  • I stamped silver designer paper with versamark ink using the INTERLOCKING SNOW BACKGROUND - 015H and then heat embossed silver embossing powder.
  • I then cut apart the snow panels and layered on a die cut white panel popping the panel up on dimensionals.
  • Next, I stamped the Simple Pine Trees 285E with versamark ink and heat embossed the trees in green. I then fussy cut the trees and popped them up on dimensionals.
  • The Small Script Merry Christmas 272E is heat embossed with red emboss powder.
  • The card is finished with several clear sequins.

Do you have a favorite of these two card? I have to say, I love them both. The aqua is a great color but I really love the silver on silver embossing on the second card.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my two cards this week.

Berries and Bows

>> Thursday, November 30, 2023

 Hello friends!

Christmas cards yay! It's that time of year when I love making Christmas cards whether I send them or not, LOL!

This Christmas card features some of DRS's new stamps, Small Script Merry Christmas and Berries & Bow Christmas.

I used a window die by Spellbinders on an ink-sprayed background.
The Berries and Bow was fussy cut.
The white background panel was scored on the diagonal every 1/2".
I used some red transparent enamel dots as embellishments.

Thanks for visiting today!

Winter

>> Tuesday, November 28, 2023

 Hi Everyone,

With all preparation for Thanksgiving, starting to decorate for Christmas, trying to snag a few deals by shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, today's card share had to be clean and simple.  Lucky for me, DRS Designs had the perfect new stamps to make that happen!

I used both the new Hello Winter Greeting (283E) and the Simple Pine Trees (285E), which I heat embossed with some glittery powder to give the simple black and white a little oomph.

I dry embossed only a portion of the card layer to leave room to stamp those trees and I attached the pennants to the greeting before attaching it to the card with some dimensional foam tape.

I don't think I've ever made a card that marks the arrival of the winter solstice, but I loved using these stamps!

Have you started on your holiday cards yet?

Happy Stamping!

Merry Christmas

>> Monday, November 27, 2023

I love the new Simple Pine Trees 285E. They are great for backgrounds or simple card fronts. For my card today, I used it for a really simple card front.

  • First, I masked off the small tree and only used the large tree. Once the tree was stamped I stamped the new Small Script Merry Christmas 272E and stamped it so it was touching the tree.
  • I then colored the tree with copics and added some red Nuvo Drops to the tree and also the I on Christmas.
  • I then cut the layer down and added the bright green card stock to pick up some of the color on the tree.

I might need to make more of this card and color the tree up in other colors.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my card this week.

Berries

>> Tuesday, November 21, 2023

Hi Everyone,

While I know Thanksgiving is this week, I couldn't resist showing off a couple of the new stamps soon to be released here at DRS Designs.

I stamped and colored up the new Berries and Bow Christmas Decoration (9275F), die cutting it and turning it into a tag by punching a hole in the top and adding a ribbon. I then layered it onto an embossed holly background and added the new Small Script Merry Christmas (272E) Greeting.

To finish it off, I added some punched holly leaves and red gems as berries, and also added some glitter glue to the image berries as well.  It's the holidays, there is no such thing as too much glitter this time of year!

Be sure to stop back and see all of the new holiday and winter stamps!

Happy Holidays!

Painting Poinsettias

>> Wednesday, August 23, 2023

Hello Crafty Friends,

Don't you love learning new techniques?

I have been learning the Wet on Damp Watercoloring technique covered in THIS YouTube video by Anna Bucciarelli.  I thought it would be great on a stamped poinsettia so I stamped the DRS Designs Giant Poinsettia on my paper a few times, and then watercolored it all with Daniel Smith Watercolors.  When the petals were still damp, I extended the viens a bit.  I have a long way to go before I get this technique down, but I am still loving the results.  Plus I did this on regular Heavyweight Paper from The Paper Studio and it would have been much easier on watercolor paper.

I finished the card off with a lightly sponged Merriest Wishes Greeting

It's time to start those Christmas cards if you haven't already!

Hugz,

Nancy

Merry Christmas to All

>> Monday, July 17, 2023

It is about time for me to start working on Christmas cards so I don't get behind. I realized I have a couple of very large bins of gems and thought I could use some up for a fun Christmas card.

For this card:

  • I laid a circle die cut on white card stock for placement, then found several shades of pink pearls and gems in my stash along with some clear and white gems and pearls.
  • I carefully placed them around the circle die cut and glued them down adding some darker gems in to add some accent.
  • Once I had good placement, I picked up the die cut and added a few to the center to give it a bit more build up on the wreath.
  • I tied a light pink bow at the top and glued it to the back of the card stock.
  • The card was finished with the MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL - 099D in pink and then layered on a bright pink card stock.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my card this week. Are you working on your Holiday cards yet? DRS Designs has some great images and sentiments to help you get ready early.
