Happy Halloween

 Hi Everyone,

I have one last Halloween card to share with you since today is the big day! I can't wait to see what the neighborhood kids come dressed up as!

I stamped and colored up the Spooky Jack Halloween greeting, adding some sponging after I die cut it out.  I then stamped and fussy cut the Fancy Pumpkin, adding some glitter to his hat.  I wrapped the greeting in a die cut vine and layered it onto a background that was stamped using the Starry Background. 

Usually I add some gems as embellishment to finish off a card.  Today I had to add them to cover up a boo boo I made at the very end of the cardmaking process. Sigh. I may go back and see if I can add some more vines in that spot instead.

Happy Halloween

 Hello there!

All of you Star Wars fans will recognize that greeting I'm sure!

Hey, I have 1 more Halloween card to share today.  This one uses a combo of a DRS Design stamp: Spooky Jack Halloween and a Sizzix Halloween die set along with the Wacky Stitched Circle for a moon from I.O.

I love the fun yellow, orange, and black colors.  The square brads I used are old (sorry), from my 

massive stash of brads and eyelets (you know what I mean, right?).

I used some black core cardstock with purple on the other side then sanded it for the Frankie, black with brown sanded for the tree and black with orange sanded for the jack-o-lantern.

The background black is glitter paper.

Frightful Delightful

 Hello crafty friends!

Today I have another Halloween card using the cute Frightful and Delightful sentiment, Candy Corn Border, and Burning Cauldron stamps from DRS Designs.

I have also used purple glitter paper and green glitter paper layers with green and purple stones as bubbles in the cauldron to make it even more fun.  Some cute die cuts from Sizzix Tim Holtz and 

cute ribbon.

Lastly, I added 3 orange sparkly acrylic dots at the bottom.

Scary

Hi Everyone,

I have a quick Halloween card share today.  It's pretty self- explanatory, but I stamped and die cut the So Spooky It's Scary Greeting and matched it up with a die cut skull.  It doesn't show up in the photo well. but I added white glitter to the big skull and the small ones in the greeting. 

I added red gems to match the drippy blood and I finished it with some googly eyes.

It's All in the Accessories!

 Hello crafty friends. I have another fun Halloween card to share with you this week.

For my card:

• The card base is sponged with 2 different blue distress oxide inks. I put down a scrap paper to get the hard straight edge.
• Next, I stamped COUNT PORKULA - 134D, colored with copics and fussy cut.
• For the IN THE ACCESSORIES GREETING - 155D, I used my tutorial Moving Around Your Sentiment to get the sentiment all on one line under COUNT PORKULA - 134D.
• COUNT PORKULA - 134D was popped up on dimensionals and the card was finished with white paint marker dots for the stars.

Drop In

Hello friends!

Today I have a Halloween card in 

aqua and purple, I know, not the usual 

Halloween colors.

I used DRS stamps: Bubbling Beaker, Drop In For A Spell, and Witch Books and Hat.

I used a web embossing folder over the aqua and sentiment together.

Spellbinder Octagon dies and a spider rhinestone.

Happy Halloween

 Hi Everyone,

The jack o lantern that's part of the new Spooky Jack Halloween greeting, reminded me of the one that's part of the Witch Gnome stamp.  So, I went ahead and paired them up on my card today.  

For my backgrounds, I stamped, and heat embossed the Empty Spider Webs first, and then stamped and colored up the greeting on my white background paper. I then used the Starry Background and stamped the purple stars, doing my best to avoid getting stars inside the pumpkin image.  

I used some circle dies on my gnome and attached him on top of the border that was embellished with a strip of patterned ribbon.  

I have my pumpkin ready to be carved, purchased my Halloween candy, and found my cat ear headband that I wear every October 31st, so I'm all ready for the trick or treating!

Happy Halloween

 

Hello crafty friends. I have a fun Halloween card to share with you today.

For my card:

• I used the new SPOOKY JACK HALLOWEEN - 224F stamped on white card stock and colored with copics. It is hard to see but I added some stickles to the eyes.
• The card base is embossed with a wood emboss folder.
• For the leaves, I grabbed several distress oxide inks on white card stock scraps. Once the scrap paper was fully colored I punched it down with 2 different sized leaves. This is a great way to use scrap paper and it does not matter if the colors don't blend well. They turn out great for fun fall leaves.
• The SPOOKY JACK HALLOWEEN - 224F is popped up on dimensionals.

Danger!

Hello crafty friends!

I was at Hobby Lobby the other day, waiting for my husband's surgery to be complete, when I found a roll of this stuff (in the ribbon section) that is a cross between jute color spider webs and fishing net sort of stuff.  Wow, of course I had to buy it! How could I resist? Come on, I'm only human after all!!

So I used it as scary spider web stuff today on this haunted house card.

I used a Tim Holtz Sizzix Distressed brick embossing folder inked with Black Soot on the background.

I used DRS Designs stamps: Beware Window and So Spooky It's Scary.

The ghost was a die cut from vellum that I used a white Painty Pen on to make a face and outline. 

I hope you like this scariness.  It was so fun to make!

 

I did put a little red glitter pen on the skull eyeballs too beside coloring in the words, Danger, Keep Out! and Beware!!

Brew-tiful day

 

The new BEWARE WINDOW - 197H is great to help set a fun Halloween scene.

For my card today:

• I stamped the BEWARE WINDOW - 197H on white card stock and colored it with copics.
• Next, I added some yellow sponging around the window with Distress Oxide ink.
• The BUBBLING BEAKER - 253F was stamped on white card stock and colored with copics then fussy cut and popped up on dimensionals.
• The card was finished with the 'BREW'TIFUL DAY GREETING - 782D.

MIXED MEDIA PUMPKINS

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today, I have mixed media pumpkins to share.  I used the Peculiar Pumpkins and the new Spooky Jack Halloween Greeting to make this card.

I started this by mixing up some orange water color, and then I slapped it onto the cover of my MISTI (spooky, I know).  I know some of you panicked, but look at the cool grid pattern I got on the top left.  After the paper panel dried, I stamped the pumpkins and greeting.  I did two panels so I stamped the pumpkins again on the other sheet and fussy cut them.  I popped up half of them after sponging with Tim Holtz DOX in black soot, plus I added one to the sentiment since the pumpkin in the base sentiment is a bit scary.

I also sponged the black soot around the edge of  panel, tied on some twine, and then added black Stickles to all the noses and the top right corner. 

Super easy card.

Happy Halloween

Hello there crafty friends!

Today I am sharing some Halloween cards.

For my first card, I've used DRS stamps: Spooky Jack Halloween and Fancy Pumpkin.

I used 3 spider rhinestones at the bottom.

My second card uses DRS Stamps: Silhouette Witch Cauldron and Halloween Arc

The background was made using a marbling technique using shaving cream and re-inkers.

I stamped over the background using Versafine Claire.

Halloween so Spooky....

 

I love, love, love how this came out. I just had to use this paper. It has been in my stash for a few years and when I for this new SO SPOOKY IT'S SCARY HALLOWEEN GREETING I just knew I was going to add this to a really fun card.

• For my card I die cut this fun textured paper with a retired liquid drip die cut from Riley and Co.
• Next, I added red ink to the top line and the SCARY word on the SO SPOOKY IT'S SCARY HALLOWEEN GREETING and stamped that part.
• I then added black ink to the So Spooky it's in the greeting and stamped portion.
• Once stamped I die cut the greeting and colored the skulls with copics.
• I then popped the greeting up on dimensionals and used the cut outs from the drip die cut to finish the sentiment panel.

This really turned out so fun for a Halloween card. I am going to send this to my son as he loves skulls and I think he will get a kick out of this card.

A Bit on the Spooky Side

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today, my cards are a bit on the spooky side!

This first one uses the new Beware Window (197H) combined with the So Spooky It's Scary Halloween Greeting (218E) and some of the pumpkins from Peculiar Pumpkin Patch (625K). 

I made the wooden background using the ink, spray, smash technique, and then running the panel through a wood grain embossing folder.  I stamped the window twice, sponged the bottom layer, and fussy cut and popped up the wood warnings. 

I then stamped and watercolored the pumpkins, sponging around the edges after cutting out a few of the pumpkins.  The sentiment was stamped, sponged, and then cut up.  I put the skulls in the larger broken window pane. To finish it all off, I drew in some spiderwebs with a white gel pen which I also used on the colored-in pumpkin eyes. 

On this next card, I ran a white paper panel through the same woodgrain EF as above and then I sponged it with the same inks.  I did the window the same as above but watercolored the inside blue. I added in some spooky die cuts from Sizzix and then stamped and fussy cut the new Spooky Jack Halloween Greeting (224F).  

I love a spooky Halloween card and these definitely qualify.

Spooky

Hi Everyone,

My card today was an attempt at using up some of my paper scraps.  I save extra paper and scraps in folders marked with the general name of the color and have grand plans for using them up.  That rarely happens.  Until such a time as this, when they are bursting at the seams!

Anyway, I used my circle punches in various sizes and papers in Halloween colors for the background.  The greeting is new from DRS Designs, (So Spooky It's Scary Halloween Greeting 218E) and I die cut it and added some orange ink as well.  

After attaching the circles, I tied on a bit of orange ribbon before attaching the sentiment with some foam tape.  To add to the Halloween theme, I attached a left-over Leaning Ghost and a couple of die cut bats.

New Halloween - Danger!

Hello friends!

New DRS stamps!

Here I have made a card using a background that I had on hand, Sponged Lumiere paint in metallics.

The new stamp is: a spooky window. I've added the 

Leaning Ghost to it in vellum.

My next card uses a previously made alcohol ink background cut in a strip and a new scary Halloween sentiment.  Also added the Burning Caudron to complete this card.

Happy Halloween

Hi Everyone,

Now that Labor Day has come and gone, and even though it's still warm outside, I'm ready for change. I'm on to putting up my fall decorations and making holiday cards!

DRS Designs has some wonderful new fall themed stamps coming soon to the store!

Here I'm showing the Spooky Jack Halloween (224F) stamp.  I love that it's an image and greeting all in one, so I layered it onto an embossed background and die cut some zig zags to play off the jack o lantern's mouth.  A few colored gems finished it off.  

Next up is the new Beware Window (1987H) which I colored up and die cut.  I added a drippy border to match the dripping on the bottom of the window, and since I had the zig zag dies out on my table, I added that along the top on this card too. 

Before attaching all the elements, I stamped the background using the Spooky Eyes and added a die cut ghost, along with the Leaning Ghost that was stamped on vellum and fussy cut.

Have you started making your fall cards yet?  Now is definitely the time....Before we know it, we'll be on to Christmas!

Fall ATCs

Hello Crafty Friends!

I was lucky enough to go to a cozy little craft retreat this past weekend up in the Alabama Mountains.  The leaves were changing, it was slightly cool, no TV or phones, no cooking or chores, and I hardly got out of my PJs.  It was super relaxing and fun.

I always have a main project when I go so that I am sure to pack the right things (or at least most of them) and so I can stay focused (life long ADD).  For today's post, I am sharing two of the ATCs I made using DRS Designs images and sentiments plus some inking and painting.

Halloween is over but here is one last nod to it.  I watercolored the little cemetery and house and then cut up and popped up part of the Frightful and Delightful Halloween greeting.  

Next, I traced a leaf from the beautiful leaves outside our cabin and watercolored it.  Then, I took parts of the Gather Hope Thanksgiving Greeting, outlined the in gold pen and popped the up.  

I made some others and will share them soon.  Hope you are finding some time to relax as the holiday seasons have begun!

Trick or Treat

Hi Everyone,

Since Halloween is next week, it thought it was time for me to share something on that theme.  

Whenever I host at my house, I like to send my guests home with a small treat.  This time of year, my go to take home gift is pumpkin bread, but I ran short on time for elaborate packaging.  I had 12 of these bags leftover from a long-ago Halloween, and they fit the mini loaves perfectly, so I dressed them up with a ribbon and tag made using the Small Trick or Treat Greeting. 

I found I made one too many tags, and also had a piece of ribbon left over, so they made their way onto a Halloween card.

The background was stamped, and heat embossed using the Interlocking Star Background, and the main image was made using the Goblin stamp.  I stamped them on top of each other, colored them up and added googly eyes.

Spooky Thanks...

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today, I am mixing Halloween and Thanksgiving together.  I am practicing drawing and painting skulls - it is supposed to help you draw faces better - lol.  When I went to do a sentiment for this skull, I spotted the new Always Thankful Greeting and immediately wanted to use it. 

This combination makes me think of unusal things to be thankful for:  good bone structures, our ancestors, teeth, that we have hard skulls to protect our brain, forensic science, and the gift of life. Can you think of more?

I did this one with two colors of Daniel Smith watercolor on regular white cardstock from Michaels.  The sentiment is stamped with Close to My Heart Black and all the paper is edged in Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Vintage Photo and Black Soot mixed together on my sponge.  

Hope you are finding things to be thankful for this Halloween.
