Yet another Christmas card!

Embossed ribbon slide

Hi!!! Here's a card I made using one of DRS Designs cool *new* ribbon slides! Yep, other than the sentiment, the only stamp I used was the button ribbon slide. I embossed them in silver, then added some green glitter to the centers. The sentiment is just stamped on vanilla cardstock, then I trimmed one end and tucked the other end under the ribbon slide. Simple and elegant, doncha think??

Ladybugs galore!
>> Tuesday, November 25, 2008
Thought I'd take a little break from Christmas cards, especially after getting my hands on this *new* little ladybug ribbon slide!! Ain't she cute??!!! I watercolored her, and the little ones on the ladybug backgrounder, with real red and tangerine ink pads. The leaves were colored in w/ my celery marker. I also stamped the ladybug ribbon slide on the sentiment, which is also *new*, in red ink. I thought the swirl went well w/ these stamps, sort of like *flight of the ladybug*, hehe! I pierced along the swirls and also on the tangerine strip. The dots and body of the ladybug were colored in w/ a black glaze pen, so they're a little shiny. The swirl and sentiment layers are up on dimensionals. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out our newest blog challenge below!!!!!!

Berry Christmas wreath

Here's a classic Christmas card I created for this weeks' Featured Stamper challenge over on SCS. The featured stamper was Wendy, and man, what a gallery! Anyway, I wanted to use this wreath from DRS Designs since I hadn't yet. To create some depth, I colored the berries w/ burgundy and real red markers. I highlighted some w/ a white gel pen, traced around them w/ my bashful blue marker and also added crystal effects to them. If you click on the pic, you may be able to see it all better (another of those "cooler IRL things", ya know?!). I ran about 2/3 of the vanilla layer thru my 'bug w/ the swirl folder. I pierced along the edge of the embossing, then stamped the swirl image below. I could use that swirl stamp on everything, it is *so* cool!! The sentiment is from the large Christmas sentiment stamp that has several all on one. A filigree flower, brad and gingham finish it off! Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to check out our current blog challenge below and get to scrappin'!!!

Non-traditional Christmas card
>> Tuesday, October 14, 2008
First, my apologies for the late post! I was counting on the color challenge from SCS being posted when I woke up this morning, but it wasn't (I totally understand how life can get busy!), so I had to wait til I got home from work to finish up my card. I loved the colors and thought it'd be cool to make a non-traditional Christmas card! Whatcha think? The center pink layer has the easy snowflake backgrounder stamped in versamark then embossed with Iridescent Ice ep. In keeping with the DRS blog challenge #6 (see below post), I kept my soon to be released sentiment as the focal point. The black strips were pierced, as were the corners. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out our blog challenge below!! Please link your work in your comment so we can check it out!!

Mini treat tins!
>> Tuesday, September 30, 2008
Ok, you can say it ~ how CA-UTE are these??? hehe! I found these little tins at Target. They come in pairs and were $1 for two!! Yep! Couldn't pass it up! I'll be giving these to my boys' teachers, if I can part with them. ;} On the silver one, I used the witch hat ribbon slide and added extra ribbons to the handle. For the orange one, I stamped the web with black stazon directly on the tin. Then I made a little tag and tied it to the handle, plus added some ribbon to the bottom. SOOO easy!

Christmas Blues
>> Tuesday, September 2, 2008
No, I don't HAVE the Christmas blues!! hehe! Just wanted to make a Christmas card using blues and browns ~ one of my fave color combos! For the larger panel, I used the NEW sentiment frame from DRS. I don't have a sentiment (at the moment!) that fits into the frame, so I decided to use it as a background stamps. I love how it turned out! The snowflake swirl stamp is also a NEW one available. I like that it sort of highlights the sentiment. A quick and easy, yet elegant Christmas card if you ask me!! Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Embossed star ribbon slide
>> Tuesday, August 19, 2008
Here's a simple and festive holiday card I came up with while playing with my new DRS Designs ribbon slide. They're available for purchase now and I just *love* them!! And this star is just so elegant! I embossed it w/ silver ep so it really stood out. All of the dp is from the same paper pack, so no worrying about matching anything. I added 3 rows of piercing to draw your eye to the sentiment. Speaking of piercing, don't forget to check out our blog challenge posted below!!! Thanks for stopping by!!
