Heart Drops

Christmas is over, and I am officially switching gears to Valentine's Day cards! I just love this stamp called Heart Drops (#K344), so I decided to use it for this simple layout card today! I inked the stamp with Versamark ink, and then Memento Rose Bud ink, then embossed with clear embossing powder. Then each tiny heart was dotted with a Quickie glue pen, and glittered for sparkle.

Inside I stamped the Script Happy Valentine's Day (#F357) with Versamagic Jumbo Java ink, and clear embossed.
Today marks my last post as Guest Designer for DRS! :( Joining the team for November and December was a lot of fun, and I am glad to have had the chance to get to the know the other team members a little better! These girls all do a fantastic job of representing DRS Designs, and I will plan to keep coming back to check out their designs!

One Final Card for the Holidays

Can you believe it! Tomorrow will be Christmas eve! I am sure everyone is busy doing last minute preparations for the big feast with family and friends. I would just like to wish you all a JOYFUL MERRY CHRISTMAS and hope the the coming year will bring lots of happiness.

I have prepared one last card for this Holiday season. Background for this card was made using the Medium Filigree Snowflake. I first stamped the image of the snowflake on the plastic sheet that comes with the Stamp-a-ma-jig system. I then proceeded to stamp my first snowflake on the edge of my white cs with Pearlescent Sky Blue Brilliance Ink. Then I positioned the plastic sheet as a guide for my second snowflake as well as the Stamp-a-ma-jig and then stamped my second snowflake. I used this same method for the remaining snowflakes that I used for the background of my card. I used another stamp from DRS Designs for the sentiment which is the Yesteryear Christmas Greeting. This was stamped on white cs with the same ink used for the background then heat embossed with Opalescent embossing powder. Cut the sentiment using a square scallop die from Spellbinders, then pierced holes on each of the scallops and threaded the loops with Blue Scrappers Floss. This was then mounted on a shiny blue cs that was cut using the Fleur De Lis Pendant Die. Used some white half pearls on the center of 4 of the Snowflakes.

To the Tropics

Christmas is just a few days away, and I've made all the Christmas cards I'm going to make this year! So for today I decided to whisk everyone off to a tropical island! Pull up a beach chair and join me on the sand! There are plenty of fruity drinks and we'll just put our toes in the sand, listen to the waves lap the shore, and watch these flamingos enjoy the water! I used the Fall-To Layout #72 from the Clean & Simple blog for my design.

Ghiradelli Matchbooks

Today I have these quick and easy Ghiradelli chocolate matchbook treats to share with you! For my design, I used the Pine Bough #K467 and the Small Merry Christmas #B1014 to decorate the die-cut circles on the front.

Inside each little matchbook is tucked a Ghiradelli chocolate square! These are so easy to make assembly-line style, so give it a try!

Season's Greetings

Season's Greetings! I have some wintery trees to share with you today on my snowy card! This image, the Line of Winter Trees is so gorgeous in it's simplicity, don't you think? I stamped the image in Versamark Dazzle Frost ink and in Memento Paris Dusk ink, then embossed with clear embossing powder. The background piece is embossed with the Cuttlebug Snowflake folder, and then I spritzed it with Silver Metallic Glimmer Mist. I've noticed a lot of simple, white-on-white cards in my blog browsing lately, so I thought this image would be perfect for my own version. I hope you like it!

Pink Snowflake

Hello everyone! Today I have a pretty pastel Christmas card to share with you featuring the Large Filigree Snowflake! This stamp is so pretty and beautifully detailed! You'll get a lot of use out of it for Christmas, and then into the winter months as well. I paired my snowflake with my favorite Beauty of Nature Christmas sentiment, and used the Mojo Monday sketch for inspiration (altering it slightly because I didn't want to cover up too much of that gorgeous snowflake!)

Here's a close-up shot to try to show you the detail! I stamped the snowflake using Versamark Dazzle ink in Frost, then inked it with Memento Rose Bud ink, stamped and then embossed with Rainbow embossing powder. I then added Diamond Dust chunky glitter to some areas to really make it stand out. My sentiment was stamped with SU! white kraft ink and embossed with white embossing powder on pink cardstock.

A Snowy Merry Christmas

This is my second post with DRS Designs as a Guest Designer. I have been having so much fun playing around with their stamps. Today I decided to post a card using the Large Snowman Head, Interlocking Snowflake backgrounder, and the Small Merry Christmas stamps.




I started this card off by stamping the Interlocking Snowflakes on the base of my card using Perfect Medium and they brushing Forever Blue Perfect Pearls on the snowflakes. Wiped of as much of the powder as I can then sprayed the whole front of the card with Pearl Glimmer Mist. The glimmer mist added just the right amount of shine to the card. Then randomly added some blue rhinestones to the center of some of the snowflakes. The Snowman image was stamped 2x on white cs with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and the colored with Copic markers. I then cut out the hat, scarf and holly leaves and popped it on top of the first colored image with double sided foam tape. Used an oval Colluzle for the frame as well as an oval scalloped nestability from Spellbinders. The plain oval was again sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist and for the scalloped oval I rub some Perfect Medium all around the edges and then used a brush to spread some Blue Perfect Pearls to match the snowflakes. The strip behind the image was done using the Fiskars Threading Waters punch, were I once more used Perfect Medium pad on the sentiment and brush it with the blue Perfect Pearls. Lastly, added some half pearls to the end of the sentiment strip.

Bright Snowflakes

I was so inspired by a card made recently by my friend Joan Ervin, so I decided to CASE it using the Interlocking Snowflake Background stamp from DRS Designs! The snowflakes were stamped using Elegant Eggplant, Cool Caribbean, Regal Rose and Old Olive inks from Stampin' Up! and Hero Arts gemstones were applied to the centers for extra bling! I also stamped the Cool Caribbean background piece with the snowflakes using Versamark Dazzle ink in Frost.

This sentiment is one of my favorites too, the Beauty of Nature Christmas Greeting. I took some inspiration for the layout of my card from the Crazy 4 Challenges blog sketch challenge this week, too!

A Happy Holidays

Today is my first post on this DRS blog as Guest Desinger for the months of November and December. I am so grateful to have been selected and I am so looking forward to the next 2 months. I would like to thank the DRS Team for giving me this great opportunity.

Card that I am sharing with you today is made using the Fireplace stamp set. I started off by stamping the image on off-white cs with Walnut Stain Distressing ink . Hold on now, before stamping the image on the cs I also used a green Marvy Brush marker to color in the leaves on top of the mantle. Once the image was stamped I then proceeded to color the bricks, wood panneling, logs and fire with Prismacolor colored pencils and then used some Gamsol to blend the colors. Some parts of the image I colored with Copic markers. Added some Gold Spica to the fire to give it some sparkle. I then cut off the inside portion of the fireplace out, cut around the logs and fire and set that aside for a bit. Used a small piece of off-white cs just slightly bigger than the opening on the fireplace and colored it with yellow, orange and red Prismacolors and once more blended it with some Gamsol. Proceeded to cut all around the image and then assembled the different layers onto top of an off-white cs that was die cut and embossed with the Labels 1 Nestabilities. For the last set of layers, used a border punch from Emgination around the edges of the off-white layer, then adhered double sided tape behind the cs to covered the punched shape, then turned it back to the front and added red ultra fine Glitter from Glitter Ritz on the punch shape. To finish off this card, used some red half pearls, stocking brads and a metal sentiment.
