Big Deal Birthday

>> Friday, July 30, 2021

by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff

Happy Friday!

I hope your week has gone well! Today I have a birthday card to share. This would be perfect for the card playing person or just a great masculine card. I had the lg red heart left from probably Valentine's Day & thought it would work w/ all the card suits on my border.

I stamped the individual card suits w/ red & black on the die cut frame, then inserted a black panel inside. The big greeting was stamped onto the heart shape & the 5 cards were fussy cut & added to the bottom. Pretty simple & didn't take a long time.

Here's the inside.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Supplies:
paper:  Staples 110# white, black, red
ink:  Memento tuxedo black, love letter
accessories: Rubbernecker Rectangle Stitch  dies, Memory Box Grand Heart die

Make a Wish

Happy Friday!

I hope your week has gone well! Happy Independence Day! We're supposed to have beautiful weather this weekend..just in time for the 4th. I'd get some fireworks if we didn't have so many trees. Maybe we'll get a chance to find some. I'm thinking they'll probably have some over by the lake.

My birthday card today is pretty simple. I wanted to add some festive colors but didn't want to spend a lot of time coloring. My solution was to use the reverse circle mask & randomly sponge some bright colors of Distress ink thru it. Then I used the same inks to stamp the smaller circle bg. The candles were stamped on top & I used a few Copics to add just a bare hint of color.

Here's the inside:

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend & a great July 4th!

Piggy Kite Flying

Happy Friday!

I hope your week has gone well! We've had some really nice weather the last few days, with cooler, drier days & a nice breeze. Sounds like perfect kite flying weather.

For my birthday card, I used just the solid diamond & not the argyle part that usually goes w/ it. I stamped it in rows using 2 Kaliedacolor ink pads, then stamped the little kite, here & there in some of the diamonds. Leonard was stamped & colored on a separate piece & fussy cut. I only had room for the vertical greeting & turns out, it fit perfectly. I added some stickles to the kites for a little sparkle.

Here's the inside & below it are the Copics I used.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Hula Birthday

>> Friday, June 18, 2021

Happy Friday!

I hope your week has gone well! The weather has been pretty nice here the last few days. We had a cool front so the temps overnight have been in the 50's & highs in the low 80's. And low humidity, which is the most important thing. But there's a tropical thing trying to get its act together & we're supposed to have a ton of rain on Sunday.

My birthday card today was fairly easy. I die cut the Happy Birthday ring & a large circle to go behind it. Then I stamped Miss Hula Piggy & colored her & enough of the bg around her to show thru the bday ring. The palm tree border was stamped across the bottom using the oxide ink & I couldn't find a blue paper the same color so I used a Copic marker to color that bg layer the same color. If you do this, don't go crazy & color the whole piece of paper..I only did the outer section that would show.

Here's the inside, where I put 2 greetings together & added more palm trees. Below it are the Copics I used.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
