Cherry Blossom Sympathy

>> Wednesday, April 3, 2024

Hello Crafty Friends,

I watched THIS lovely tutorial, switched it to watercolors, and painted a peaceful watercolor scene of water and cherry blossoms for this Sympathy card using Brush In Deepest Sympathy.

It was a bit tricky since watercolor is not as forgiving when painting over another color, but the colors here (from the color challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com this week) made it easier as they are vivid and work well together. I did use white gouache for the blossoms, lights, and water lines which helped as well.

Hope your week is going well.

Hugz,

Nancy

WOW! this is spectacular! I so love the work you did on this, that bg river and trees and the foreground flowers in the water and I don't even know what you did to the branches but EVERY detail is soooo outstanding! It is a piece of art that you should frame and hang on the wall!!
LOVE this!
