One of my Grandsons favorite things to do at my house is making ink/spray/smash backgrounds.  I roll out some aluminum foil, they swipe inks around on it, we splash on some water, and then we smash pages on the foil until we run out of color.  Sharing a love of crafting with them warms my heart. My card today is made with a background that we created last weekend.

After we made the ink/spray/smash background, we dried in the microwave which makes them explode into giggles everytime.  They call it cooking paper.  Next, we sprinkled on some Frantage and heated it up with a heat tool (under extremely close supervision, of course).

To add even more interest to this background, I stamped on the Script Font Background (still my favorite DRS stamp but it is retiring soon, sniff, sniff).  I use this stamp unmounted and just slap it on with my hand so that the it barely touches in some spots.  I added in a fussy cut Fillgree Butterfly and the new Birthday Blessings Greeting along with a bit of lace and a fancy brad from my hoarded treasure box.

I love the end result, and enjoyed the time getting inky with my Grandsons (5 and 7).

Hope you are having a fabulous week.

Hugz,

Nancy

That background on this card is a piece of artwork! It's so amazing I could see it as fabric or wrapping paper, or wallpaper! Gorgeous with that lace and the embellished butterfly!
