Tree Slices

>> Monday, February 4, 2019

Happy Monday! Hope you had a good weekend! We finally have a break from the bitter cold weather caused by the Artic Blast. Today is suppose to be in the upper 50s! Quite a difference from this time last week with wind chills around -40! It was however, excellent weather for staying indoors and getting inky!

I have two cards to share with you today. Both feature the new Tree Slice Woodgrain image. For the first card, I started by sponging on blue Distress Oxide inks to create the background. The birch trees were die cut using a Gina Marie die. I stamped Vicki's Versatile background image onto the trees using Antique Linen ink. I got the idea to use this image on the trees from DRS Designer, Sue. You can see her birch trees here.

The snow banks were created with some Fawn Lawn dies. The new Tree Slice Woodgrain image was stamped onto white CS with Memento Black ink, colored with copics and fussy cut. The Buck Bust image was also stamped, colored and fussy cut. He's added to the tree slice with some foam dots. The Birthday greeting was stamped onto white CS, die cut with a SB banner die and layered onto Black CS. I added some black Nuvo Drops to the Buck's eyes for dimension.

This next card uses the same Tree Slice Woodgrain image, but this time I stamped, colored and fussy cut some flowers to add to the tree slice. (medium daisy, polka dotted flower, Three flowers with butterfly) Once they were added to the tree slice some clear or black Nuvo drops were added to the flower centers. The leaves were die cut from a small die of the month set from SB.

I stamped the woodgrain background image with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink to create the kraft panel. The tree slice was glued onto the white panel after the greeting was stamped on with Versafine Black Onyx ink.

This tree slice image is so versatile. I like how it can look so masculine and then feminine. You can check this new image and all the other new images at our on line store here.

Thanks for stopping by today.

blessings,
shelia

Fund cards Shelia! It's like the boy and girl version of the tree slice :) The buck bust is perfect sitting on top of the tree and the flowers look so bright and cheery!

What a clever use of the wood slice! That card with all the flowers is amazing and the deer makes a great guy card! Super cards!
