New Holiday Stamps

>> Tuesday, February 5, 2019

Hi Everyone,

I'm loving these new stamps that have been recently released by DRS Designs so much, that I'm skipping right by Valentine's and heading toward March and April holidays!

First up is St. Patrick's Day and the new stamp featured is this St. Patrick's Shamrock Scroll ,
which I stamped colored and die cut, adding a few dabs of glitter glue for embellishment.

I created the background using the Shamrocks and Splatter Background stamps in green and orange ink.  An embossed shamrock panel was added down the center and I attached the sentiment towards the top of the card.

For the image, I used the Hat Full of Shamrocks, stamping, coloring and fussy cutting it out.  I cut off all but one of the lucky clovers, choosing to fill the hat with gold coins instead.  I glittered up some paper and used a small circle punch to create them, cutting a slit in the hat to give me a place to pile up the coins.

Before attaching the hat, I added a strip of patterned paper made using the Shamrock Scroll stamp.

I can't believe how late into the month of April that Easter falls this year. I actually like that more than when it falls at the end of March.  We have a better chance of daffodils and sunshine this way!

So, how about a sunny, cheerful card graced with our favorite pig!  The new stamp is
Easter Ears Leonard Pig and I stamped him on top of a row of  Easter Eggs with Bows.  I just created a mask and used it to stamp the line of eggs, adding the Happy Easter Everybunny sentiment.

I used the Easy Dot Background and Silhouette Branch Background to make the base papers, adding some lace and premade velum flower stickers for embellishments.

As I finish typing this post, it's 60 degrees and the sun is out.  Between that and my cards today, I definitely in the mood for spring!

Thank you for visiting!

2 Wonderful cards Karin! Great job turning the hat full of shamrocks into a hat full of coins - not to mention the awesome coloring of said hat! Excellent color choices for your Easter card! Leonard looks very comfortable balancing on the egg - who knew he was so talented?

Great cards, Karin! Love your hat full of gold coins! So clever to add those coins! I really like how you put Leonard up on top of the other eggs! Love all the added embellishments on both cards!

Karin,

A totally fab St. Pat's card with the fun coins in that great hat (love your image surgery!). I am so going to do a St. Pat's card next.

The Easter card is so adorable with all your fun and cheerful details. Leonard looks super cute with that Giant egg.

Fun, fun, fun. Hugz

Great cards! Love your colors and the background on the St Pats.
The Easter card is also quite imagative and a cute way to use the pig/bunny.
It’s never to early to get a jump on the next card occasion and it’s nice to think about Spring!
