Merry Christmas!

>> Thursday, September 26, 2019

Good morning to you!
This card shows a variation for the cardinal image, I've
made him a Steller Jay.
I did this for a color challenge and I like him like this!
We have lots of Steller Jays and Blue Jays where we live.
DRS stamp: Cardinal on Branch.
My frame is a die by Hero Arts and the Merry Christmas is
Elizabeth Craft.
Instead of popping up the frame I popped up the image panel where I did an Out-of-the-Box
die cutting technique.  The background panel is actually light blue in real life, just a few
shades lighter than the bird.  I used some Dries White Adhesive and glitter on the snowy pine cones.

My next card is using a sketch from SCS.  I used 3 stamps for the scene: Christmas Village Cabin,

For the circle I used 2 stamps: Ice Skates, and Berry Wreath and then on the band under the skates
I used Snow Background Finally the Merry Christmas at the bottom.
First I stamped the Skating Rink and then masked it then next I stamped the Cabin and masked it as well.  Keeping both mask on I then stamped the tree border.  I colored everything then I stamped the Merry Christmas at the bottom.  I a separate piece of cardstock I stamped the skates, masked them then stamped the Berry Wreath.  Colored all and die cut using a circle die from LifeStyle.
Now I made a band (part of the sketch), starting with a 1 1/2" red strip.  I cut a 1 1/4" white strip then stamped it with the Snowflakes using Jade Brilliance Ink.
For the back panel I used a 6 X 6" embossing folder from Embossalicious.
To finish it off I used some Crystal Stickles on the snow.
That about wraps it up. Thanks for visiting today!

Wow, Wow, Wow! I love everything on both these cards, Robin. The blue cardinal is gorgeous and your masking and designing on the second card are amazing. Beautiful cards!!! Hugz

What beautiful cards Robin! What a fantastic idea changing the cardinal into a blue jay - and your coloring is just wonderful!!! No one does pine cones as well as you do! Incredible job on your ice skates card too - so much masking, but it all looks perfect! I'm picturing a berry wreath with the ice skate as a door wreath!

These are fabulous, Robin! Your blue cardinal is so pretty but I really love your second card. Those ice skates surrounded by the berry wreath are so pretty. Such an idyllic winter scene.
