Christmas Door Knocker

>> Saturday, November 24, 2018

Welcome!

It's official - Christmas is on it's way!  My card today uses one of our newly released images!  I just wish my front door looked like this one!

I started my card by stamping our new Door Knocker stamp in the bottom center of my card using black ink and my Misti (leave image in place).  I created a mask of the door knocker (cutting off the pine branches) and after laying it on my card I stamped 1 section of our Wood Grain image vertically across my card, leaving as little space between the images as possible. I also stamped an extra image on a separate piece of card stock.  After removing the mask I colored both the knocker, the door and the extra piece using a combination of markers, watercolor pencils & blender pen and a gold sharpie for the knocker.  Since the gold covered most of my black lines I put it back in my Misti and over stamped it twice.

Since I wanted to have windows in my door and I don't have a rectangular punch or die the right size I decided to make them stained glass, but all one color.  I sponged some yellow ink on a scrap and stamped our Small Stained Glass using black ink and cut 4 section approx 3/4" x 1 1/8".  All that was left was to attach the extra wood grain (cut in half) across the top and the "windows" in between the two strips and attach everything to a folded black card.

Thanks for stopping by!
