Third Day

Good morning!
Happy almost Easter to you!

Other miscellaneous: Spellbinder dies, embossing folder, ribbon, pearls and 3M foam tape.
I did an easy easel card today so that I could show the beautiful Easter Lily and crosses stamped image WITH the scripture at the same time! I is so wonderfully lovely together.  Easter has such special meaning to Christians all over the world, and this card, says why.
The die I used for the scripture sentiment has the embossed lilies on it, I just colored in the embossing so it is not a stamp.  The die just went with the image stamp so well I loved using it on this card.
My Easter lilies may look a little different to you and they are.  Out where I live, in the forest by streams, we have Tiger lilies that look just like these, so, I couldn't help myself!
The easel card is very easy to make.  This one is a piece of cardstock 4 1/4" X 11" scored at 5 1/2" and then again at 8 1/4".  Fold the card in half and then up again at the 8 1/4" score line so that the bottom edge of your card in now at the top.  Glue another piece of cardstock 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" on just the half folded up (it should now be the size of a regular 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card).  Now, to make your top stay open as shown here, you will need something 3-D inside (about half way up from the bottom of the card) to use as a catch.  In this case I used a popped up layer with my die cut.  You could use a rose or other 3-D object but remember, you will want to be able to mail the card! Using a popped up layer is best for mailing I believe, it still folds flat. Here is a diagram in case you might be confused with my write up.

I hope you will give this a try.  I find it very useful when my sentiment is large and I don't want to cover my image in any way.
Have a great weekend!  I get to go to a paper crafting retreat!! Yippee!
