Frisky Florence

>> Wednesday, June 29, 2011

Congratulations to Karolina B!

You are the lucky winner of Frisky Florence! To claim your prize, just email DRS Designs with your name and address to info@drsdesigns within 7 days.

Florence is one of the stamps from this past release and a favorite of mine for sure. She is so spunky and perfectly paired with the fun Drama Mama sentiment. I made my own patterned paper using the Interlocking Flowers background stamp and colored them to match Florence's outfit. Copic markers were used on everything, and a colorless blender was used to make the polka dots on her skirt.

Here is a close up of the Glossy Accents I added to her little glasses and the glitter to the flower in her hat.

There are only a a couple of days left in the contest, so you have to comment for your chance to win the stamp of the day! Come back tomorrow and see if it was you!

Good luck!

Bird on a Branch

>> Tuesday, June 28, 2011

Hi Everyone,
The winner of today's stamp, named Bird on Branch is

yoyomaker!

Just send an email to info@drsdesigns.com to claim your prize...Congratulations!

I was so thrilled to be able to showcase this realistic bird stamp on my card today. I began by creating the background using the Silhouette Branch Background inked in rust on a rust card base. Using the Birthday Sheet Music stamp to make the next layer, it looked so good, that I then decided that this would be sufficient for this card's sentiment.

The bird was stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and I used pencils for coloring medium. What a refreshing change for me, I've been in a Copic rut and the pencils created a much softer look on this rustic card.

I added some distress ink to the edges of my die cut medallion and after fussy cutting my bird, I put him on the center as my focal point. Some twine and a little birdhouse charm made this complete.

There are only a couple more days in our Stamp A Day Give Away, so remember to comment for a chance to win!

DRS Designs also has a whole group of stamps in the new releases section at the store...You are going to love what's new!

Birthday Lottery!

>> Monday, June 27, 2011

Congratulations Leanne!
It's your lucky day!

You have won the Birthday Lottery Ticket stamp (1061L) seen on my card below!

This kind of lottery ticket is probably not the kind you'd like to receive on your birthday with prizes like gray hair, memory loss, and wrinkles, but it makes for a very funny birthday card, don't you think?!?! I colored this Instant Scratch-Off with Copic Markers and popped up the center with foam tape for added dimension. I've also used DRS Designs Birthday Wishes Come True Greeting (508E) on this card. It seemed fitting because I'm sure many of us wish to win the lottery for our birthdays! I know I do! Simply embellished with some (lucky!) embossed stars, sparkling black rhinestones and black ribbon, this card was complete!

Can you believe June is almost over!?!? Make sure to continue entering the Stamp A Day Giveaway everyday for the rest of June to increase your chances of winning a FREE DRS Designs stamp valued between $7 and $10.50! All you have to do is leave a comment to be eligible for the stamp given away the next day.
We greatly appreciate your visits and can't thank you enough!
Have a wonderful Monday!

Congratulations to Susan K!!

You are the lucky winner of this groovy, 2 line flowers for the Stamp a Day Giveaway!

My card feels groovy to me today! I randomly stamped the 2 line flowers in noir black and then using my trusty pearlescent watercolors, colored them in. Next, I cut two extra flowers and paper pieced them (the small blue ones). Lastly, I added some baker's twine and a button. The Save the drama for your mama greeting is just about my fav.

Golf

>> Friday, June 24, 2011

by Julie Warner - justwritedesigns

Happy Friday!
I bet y'all can't wait to see who today's winner is! And the winner is
Designing with Debbie!!
Congrats! You've won this terrific Golf image. It's perfect for that golfer you know and when you need a masculine card.

For my fairly quick card, I stamped the golf image and colored it w/ markers. I cut around most of the image but left a little "bridge" between the letters to keep them together. I stamped the cart path greeting then doodled around the edge. Around the front of my 5.5 x 4.25 card, I stamped the lines bg w/ green ink then attached the smaller greeting panel on top.

The large circles and diamond shapes were die cut then embossed w/ a large dot folder. I used the backside because it resembles the dimples on a golf ball. I attached the almost cut out golf image then trimmed the little "bridges" off.

Thanks so much for stopping by and good luck to you!

Supplies:
stamps: Graphic Golf, Cart Path Greeting, Lines O'Plenty Bg
paper: white
ink: VersaFine Onyx, Vivid Spring Green
accessories: Spellbinders circles & diamonds dies, Cuttlebug Embossing folder, markers, black micro pen

I stamped one medium daisy onto pumpkin spice cardstock, cut it out and used it as an embellishment. I also stamped the medium daisy repeatedly to create a background. I added pearl Deco to the centers of the flowers. The border was made with a SU border punch.

Ladybug Stack

Congratulations Chellie!

You are now the proud owner of this darling LadyBug Stackup! Please contact DRS Designs with your name and address within the next 7 days at info@drsdesigns.com

For my card today, I colored up the image using a Copic Marker and a Bic Mark it and cut it out using a Nestablities die. Since I used the Polka Dot Background stamp on the card base, I dry embossed the panel behind the ladybugs to match it. I also used the Interlocking Circles stamp with black ink on my red paper and the Lines O' Plenty for the panel in the center.

Here is a close up of the Stickles I added to the Ladybug spots.

I hope you enjoy your sweet new stamp and for those of you who didn't win, you have another chance today! Just leave a comment here at the blog, and come back tomorrow and see if you were the winner!

Another Year Flies By!

>> Monday, June 20, 2011

Congratulations to

Stacie (craft-princess)!

You have won this Butterfly Vine Postage Frame (939H) that you can see on my card below!
Don't delay, you have 7 days to contact DRS Designs with your mailing address to claim your prize.

I've used the Butterfly Vine as the focal point on my card front and added the Butterfly Ribbon Slide (681D) to the postage/photo area. Both were colored with Copic Markers. I stamped, cut out, and colored 2 of the butterflies and overlapped them. I added 3 brads to the butterfly bodies to hold them together and adhered them in place to give the illusion of a "flying" butterfly.

The card front was stamped with the "Another Year Flies By" Greeting (489F) that I split up to fit my layout. An embossing folder, a decorative border punch and some rhinestones created a very elegant birthday card. Wouldn't you agree?
The Stamp A Day Giveaway is still underway. Make sure to leave a comment on this post to enter tomorrow's drawing. Good Luck to you all and thanks for playing along!
Hope you all have a great Monday!

Oh No!! Did you realize today is the 15th??? So, we have some good news and some bad news for you! The bad news is the our Stamp A Day contest is halfway over :( However the good new is we still have 15 more stamps to give away and one of them may be going to you!! Hooray!

So, for today a big congratulations goes out for

Kathy Vogel

Please drop us an email in the next 7 days and we'll get your copy of "Shell"don the Turtle in the mail ASAP. Thanks for playing!I'm not always the quickest at sending out Thank You notes, so I thought I could blame my cute little turtle friend. It's his fault for not walking faster!

I stamped "Shell"don the Turtle and our Three Flowers with Butterfly using black dye ink, and the grass using our Easy Grass Background and spring green dye ink. After coloring I sponged on a little spring green ink along the bottom and yellow and turquoise across the top. I stamped the Silhouette Balloons using turquoise, lavender and spring green inks and added the Thank You's using black dye ink. I cut them out and attached white dental floss as my strings. Using a craft knife I made a slit where "Shell"don's mouth is and polked all three strings through and adhered them to the back.

Girly Swirly Birthday Cake

>> Tuesday, June 14, 2011

Don't you just love the name of this stamp? Girly Swirly Birthday Cake! And, if your name is

Patti M

you are now the proud owner of this stamp! Congrats! Please email DRS Designs at info@drsdesigns.com within 7 days with your name and address to claim you prize.

Playing off the name of the stamp, I used it to make a birthday card that will eventually make its way to a very girly 6 year old at the end of the month! Her favorite colors are pink and purple, so those were the main colors I used when choosing my Copic Markers.

I created the polka dots with a colorless blender, just holding it on the colored in portion and lifting it up to make a light dot. I added Stickles in a matching color to my embossed candles and the Happy Birthday Arc (which I cut in half) finished it off.

Now, if you want to be a winner, the only thing you have to do is leave a comment here at the blog, and then come back tomorrow and see if you were randomly chosen !

Good Luck!

Congratulations to Sammibug!

You have won this June Birthday Design (796G) seen on my card below! Don't delay, you have 7 days to contact DRS Designs with your mailing address to claim your prize.

I colored this image with Copic Markers, inked the edges with yellow ink, and added yellow Stickles to the flower centers to add a bit of glitter goodness to this card!

Unfortunately, you can't see it because I was unable to get it to photograph well, but I also stamped the Interlocking Flower Background (813H) in light apricot ink over the yellow panel. I thought it went well with the flowers in the June Birthday Design and it made the yellow panel look better than leaving it plain. Finished card size is 5.5" x 4.25."

Stamp a Day #12!

>> Sunday, June 12, 2011

Welcome!

Have you been commenting everyday in
hopes of winning a FREE stamp??

Well, if your name is

Marjie Smyth

we send out a huge CONGRATULATIONS to you
for winning the Butterfly Oval I used for my card today!

You Go Girl!!!

My background (which is my cheating version of dry embossing) is actually our Silhouette Branch Background stamped with versamark ink and heat embossed using white embossing powder.

For the Butterfly Oval, I originally tried to cut out both the inside and outside of my oval, but there just didn't seem to be enough left, so I had to quickly come up with plan B - This version was way quicker and easier than the original, so some good things came out of it! The Retirement Sentiment was stamped using turquoise ink. After hand cutting both ovals ( I really need to invest in a cuttlebug or something similiar :) I distressed, re-distressed and re-re-distressed the edges hoping to even things off. Sponging the edges (before distressing) and popping up both layers with foam tape really gave this card some depth!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Remember to leave a comment so you can be entered into tonight's drawing, then come back tomorrow and see if you're our winner!

Happy Sunday!

CONGRATULATIONS TO

Karen Freiberg

WooHoo! Yeah! Way to Go!!

You have won this fun Flower and Dragonfly Postage Frame used on my card here today from DRS Designs!

This was a lot of fun to make and the colors came out funky in the photograph. It looks great IRL! I randomly stamped the dragonflies-minus the postage frame portion! I used pearlescent watercolors to give them life. The large strawberries were stamped in versamark and then I used black ep, colored with poppy parade, wild wasabi and pink and yellow glitter for the flowers and placed up on dimensionals. Our tiny belated birthday was stamped in black and punched with 1" circle punch...layered with poppy parade. Added some ribbon and a sweet brad as well. This postage frame gives such a nice, finished look to your creation and is so classy/fancy on the envie.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Doggie Dilema

>> Tuesday, June 7, 2011

Congratulations Mama Bear Stonich!

I'm thrilled to show off your winning stamp named Doggie Dilema on my card today! This adorable pup is so fun to color and can be used for kids, guys or any dog lover! I paired it with the sentiment Enjoy Today, because I was able to nestle it right in between the fence posts. DRS Designs rececently released this Hot Diggity Dog Birthday stamp, so I added that as well. It's such a cheerful looking birthday card, don't you think?

Here's a little secret, just between you and me of course ;) I used a paw print to create a subtle pattern on the back of my card. One problem. I didn't realize until it was too late, that I used the Small Cat Print, instead of the Small Dog Print! Oops...I know you won't tell anyone, right? lol.

Well, by now you should know how this works. Just leave me a comment here at the blog for your chance to win the stamp that will be revealed tomorrow!

Good luck and all the newly released stamps can be found right here!

Want to know how you can win in the Stamp A Day Giveaway? You can read the rules HERE, and then make sure to come back to the DRS Designs Blog everyday in June to leave a comment for your chance to win!

I created this card specifically to show off Russell. It was really fun to make! First, I colored him with Copic Markers and then I stamped him again on smooth light green cardstock. I stamped the Lines O'Plenty (366H) Background stamp over his shirt with dark green ink, and then cut it out. I then paper pieced the shirt in place on the original stamped image. Next, I assembled the card front as shown and stamped the question portion of the Boxers or Briefs Birthday Greeting (1100H) below the stamped image on the card front.
Here's how I decorated the inside of the card to show off the "punch line" to the sentiment I used on the front of the card. Know any guys who would really get a kick out of receiving a birthday card like this? LOL!

If you haven't guessed, today's stamp is this terrific Giant Balloon image! And is it ever big!
Y'all had a little preview of it yesterday in Joni's card so you know you can fit a sentiment inside it. I didn't even realize I had used the same two stamps Joni used until after mine was finished, lol. For my card, it took me several (messy) attempts to get the balloon and side strip to look like I wanted. Somewhere in the process, I think I invented a new technique, lol. So I'm sure there will be a tutorial soon. I will tell you it involves dye reinkers and glossy c/s.

After I made the background w/ the reinkers, I stamped the balloon and cut it out. I stamped it again on the white c/s, stamped the greeting underneath and attached the tie dyed balloon on top. I added a few strips on the side, a die cut buckle and a little crimped strip thru the buckle. The finished card measures 4.25 x 6.25 (approx an A6).

Thanks so much for stopping by and good luck to you!

Supplies:
Stamps: Giant Balloon, Brush Birthday Greeting
