Cold Days and Quilts

>> Friday, November 5, 2010

Welcome!

We're having a couple of cold rainy days her in the northeast - just right for staying inside and stamping!!!

My card today uses our new Large Scarecrow stamp

I stamped him peeking around the corner of my folded ivory card and colored him in. I wanted to do something a little more fun as a background for our new Scarecrow Greeting, so I made a "quilt". I love using scraps of paper and I got to use several here. I choose several in fall colors and then choose 2 coordinating background stamps, in this case our Easy Dot Background and our Interlocking Circle Background. I tried to make is easy and I stamped green ink on green paper, purple on purple etc. I did make an exception with the yellow and I used orange ink. To make my quilt I started with a piece of paper slightly larger than what I wanted the finished background to be and then started in the center and filled in to the edges. Once I had it all together and trimmed to my final size, I sponged on a little brown ink along the edges to pull it all together. Then I used a brown marker to add my stitches - the easiest quilt I'll ever make :)

Thanks for stopping by!
