Happy Memorial Day!!
This is one of those cards that wasn't planned, but just kinda fell together. I was originally trying to make some stripes using our Open Plaid stamp (P631) and I was going to add our In God We Trust in between the lines. It sounded like a good idea, but just didn't work. As I kept playing and trying different things to make it work, I eventually picked up our Flower and Vine Card Edger (P227) and stamped it using red ink and colored in the open leaves with a red marker.
Once I had the red "stripes" the rest fell into place. Cutting the paper to follow the curve of the stripes really made the flag stand out, and wanting something different for the stars I used our Interlocking Star Background (H819) and stamped it using silver ink and embossing powder on dark blue paper and then colored in the stars using a silver paint pen. I cut the sides straight but followed the curve of the vines for the top and bottom. I attached it all onto a folded blue card and stamped our In God We Trust (B282) in the bottom right corner.
Thanks so much for spending part of your Memorial Day with us!
