Giving Photos As Gifts?

This is the time of year that alot of us pass along photos of the kids as gifts to the grandparents, etc but since we have probably already given a gift like this we might not need to give another frame. What do you do? You don't want to give loose photos...you're a stamper/papercrafter after all!!! How about this idea...
and the inside...
Since I gave the grandparents decorated frames last year, I decided I would give them a fancy photo card this year and they can put the photos in the frame they already have. I used the cool flower multi-frame stamp from DRS to "frame" their photos. This is a really cool stamp...check out the tutorial on the DRS site HERE and stay tuned to one of my Sunday posts (in the future!) for more on this unique stamp.
I thought this sentiment was the most appropriate for this type of project. The patterned paper is from Daisy Bucket. I sponged the edges of the red with close to cocoa ink to give it a distressed look and used my edge distressor on the kraft panels both inside and out. The frame was stamped in chocolate chip ink. After adhering them to the kraft panel and cutting out the interior frame, I added some adhesive to the edges on three sides so the photos would slide in and out easily.
I used my ornare piercing template for the inside(green) panels. I added some twill tape under the pierced panels so that card would stay closed and look more like a gift than a card. The poinsettia is from a Walmart package of trims from last years grab bag at my in-laws! Everyone else thought it was junk but I grabbed it and knew someday it would be useful!!! A copper brad added just below the machine stitching finishes everything off. This is a rather quick project once you know just how you are going to do it. I made a total of three and each one went smoother than the previous!
Note: I realized after all was said and done (and you might too if you look closely at last years frame and this years photos) that the photos are smaller than last year!! (UGH!!) Since the girls are in two different schools, they use two different companies and the packages were different, hence I ordered a different size photo! Oh well...I'm sure they have frames lying around that will fit...worst case, I'm sure I have some in my stash and can (god forbid!!) use them to make new frames they can use!!! (LOL) The best laid plans...oy!!
This is a great year round project...to give photos of any occasion...just change up your colors/embellishments for whatever the occasion.
Thanks for stopping by...
See you soon...

I don't kow which is prettier - the card or the girls! Nice Job!
