A Little Cake Decorating

>> Wednesday, March 8, 2023

Hello Crafty Friends!

I wish I could decorate cakes. My Pop was very talented at it and so is my Sister, but I can't even bake the cake right half the time.  Luckily, I can decorate paper cakes, and the DRS Girly Swirly Birthday Cake is a fun one to play with.  I decided to cut the candles off and rearrange them, lower the top of the cake, and stamped isome extra flowers to add on.

I watercolored the cake and yellow background panel, and then used the leftover paint to make some plaid paper (painted the stripes first with yellow and pink and then drew in the lines).

To top it all of off, I added in some Stickles and the One More Candle Greeting which I cut up. The colors and stamps are so happy on this card - hope it makes you smile.

Happy Wednesday and hugz,

Nancy

Nancy, I love how you used the cake image in a whole new way to add dimension and interest. This is so clever and now I totally want to look at my stamps in a whole new way to add dimension. Great plaid background too.
