Fun In The Sun!

>> Thursday, June 17, 2021

Good morning!
Wouldn't you love to be sitting on the beach (west coast)
at sunset?  Oh, it is always so pretty especially when
there are a few clouds to add to the drama of the sky.
I prefer to think of this as sunset as I would NOT like to get up
sunrise early while on vacation!! LOL!
DRS Designs stamps: Sailboat, Lighthouse and Toes In The Sand Greeting
I used a couple of different beachy dies on this card as well as stamps.
Dies are from Joy Crafts and I.O.

I stated this card by spraying a couple of panels with Oxide Inks and Dylusions inks.  Purposely keeping the blues at the top and bottom to make more of a sunset scene...(sorry east coasters, I know you all think of this type of scene as sunrise).
I made this an easel card to show the happy place beach chairs and sentiment at the same time.
I used a white gel pen on the boat wake and to highlight the sun a gold glitter pen.

My next card is underwater...this is what's happening
while we all sit on the beach enjoying the sunset!!

This is also an easel card.  I stamped and masked the school of fish several times
after stamping and masking the larger foreground fish and seaweed.
I stamped the coral while seaweed was masked.
For the inside I just stamped the sentiment on white and die cut it with a
Rubbernecker die.  I stamped the seaweed a couple of times but left the color as is.
I used a green glitter pen to outline the seaweed and a bit of Stickles on the foreground fish and coral.
The bubbles have white gel pen as highlights.
I did this background with a technique that my friend Susie William (susie australia of SCS) called the smack and squirt technique.
She says to smack down some inks on foil, squirt with water then instead of using a foam blending tool as Susie does, I just dipped the cardstock pieces onto the inks and smooshed it around.
I let it dry mostly on it's own with a little help from a heat tool then I spritzed the background with water and used a paper towel to blot.
So, that's my story for today, have a very nice crafty rest of your day!

Wow, Robin! These are gorgeous! The colors on both cards are sensational and your layouts are both fun and I love that they can be displayed like the fine art they are!

I love, love, love these cards Robin. First I want to go sit in those chairs. I need a vacation so bad and feel like I am only going to get one looking through cards. Your cards are so inviting that I just want to go sit in the chairs.

The second card is super adorable with all the gold clown fish. I bet they are having a blast swimming with all their friends.

Two super cute cards.
