Swim Upward!

>> Wednesday, May 6, 2020

We all need a little happy and fun these days, and my first card today is super fun because it previews new stamps!

The two two new stamps on my first card will be released in the store this weekend:  School of Fish (1038E) and Go With the Flow Follow Your Heart (1049E).  I did a quick water color wash background, and stenciled on a faux underwater pattern with a chicken wire stencil and some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo.
I painted up the fish school with water colors too.  I did two separate upward swimming fish in a different color and have them swimming up.  Really quick card, but I love how it came out.

Since I was playing with some underwater scenes, I did another card and BAJ page combination.
I made the clay octopus legs with polymer clay that I rolled out, added the suction cups, painted with Ranger Mica powder, and baked.  I am so excited about learning to do more 3-D clay projects (thanks to YouTube and some awesome mixed media artists).

The background on the card is sponged and stenciled using various distress inks and stencils.  I tucked in a pink sponged seashell from the 4 in 1 seashells image and used a mesh die from Matty's and a seaweed die from SU!

On the BAJ page I used the Bubbles image and the Script Font background.  The background was made with the same distress inks as the card, but less green ink.  I did fleck on some water to have more water distressing.

Hope your week is going well. Stay safe.

Hugz,

Nancy

What a fun post Nancy! Great job on the fishy card. Love that those 2 guys are getting out of there double quick ;) Most impressive octopus though! I'm dying to know how you did the suckers!
