Lightening and Crosses
>> Wednesday, May 1, 2019
We have had a lot of storms the last few months. Lately, we have had some big thunderstorms and a few tornadoes that came close by so I was excited when I saw that we now have a lightening bolt image at DRS Designs.
I used the new Lightening Bolt image on this card, but I should have done several of them so it would show more. I stamped it at the top and added some sparkles to it with glitter. The bg is made with different colors of water colors done in a line pattern. I added white acrylic paint lines as well to mimic rain.
For the greeting, I used the Summer Story Greeting and then I added in the Sea Grass image for grounding. To blend in the grass a bit more with the rest of the card, I added some white paint to the grass too. To finish it all off, I sponged all around the edges in Distress Ink - Vintage Photo.
My next card was done for the SCS Inspiration challenge where I was inspired by THIS lovely picture. I painted on some crosses and swirls. Did some splatters and then stamped The Way, the Truth, and the Life Greeting.
Hope your week is going well!

I just love your stormy scene with the glittery lighting! I really like the way you added highlights to the sea grass too. Every time I see that stamp I think, I need to use it more often :) The second card is marvelous as well. So artistic and a perfect verse for Easter time>
Beautiful cards, Nancy. I really like the highlights you added to the first one, especially the sea grass. Your second card is a work of art. I'd frame that one if I could!
Wow, cool bg's Nancy!! You do amazing free style bg's for your cards that are so unique! Beautiful work on both cards!
You have about knocked me over with these cards Nancy! I absolutely LOVE your rain background with the sea grass and the simple greeting - it's the touches of white that really make the whole thing!
I checked our your inspiration picture and all I can say is that if they see your card they'll be knocking at your door cause yours is much better ;)
