Easter Already?

Happy Monday Everyone. Hope you had a great weekend! Well Easter will soon be here! I don't know about you, but I'm no where near finished with Easter cards. I think I'd better get going on them. Feels like we just finished Valentines!
I have made one Easter card so far, so I thought I'd share it with you today. I actually created it a couple of weeks ago using a sketch design from Splitcoast Stampers. I never uploaded it to SCS though. I'm a good one for that. I create cards for challenges, but never get around to uploading them to the challenge site. I think my life might be just a bit too busy right now. Anyway, it's a great sketch. Here's my card.
I started with some water color paper and sponged on the sun's rays using distress oxide inks and a Tim Holtz stencil. While that dried, I stamped the He has Risen greeting onto yellow CS with Archival Black ink. The small cross image was stamped with Memento Black ink onto white CS, colored with Copics and fussy cut. The yellow and the purple panels were embossed with a Darice wood grain folder. Purple ribbon was added between the two panels and the small cross was attached with foam adhesive for some dimension.
If you need some inspiration for Easter ideas or you're looking for some beautiful new Easter images, be sure to check out the DRS Designs on line store, here.
Thanks for stopping by today.
blessings,
shelia

Sheila, I love this SCS sketch. I so need to try it. Great colors, embossing, and Easter theme. I switched last night to Easter cards as soon as I realized it is right around the corner. Awesome card -I love it!
The sun rays, the wood grain and cross, all make for a very special Easter card! Great sketch and great combo of elements and color!
