Something's Brewing

Welcome!

I must admit that most of my cards run toward the CAS or the quick and easy side, but every now and again I like to surprise myself and get a little extra involved.  Today's card is probably one of my most involved card ever.  But I was having so much fun with it I started looking for ways to make it even more involved.

I started my card by stamping a white piece of card stock with our Magic Potion Shelf using black ink and masking it.  I stamped out Wood Grain image vertically with black ink for my paneled walls.  I couldn't find the right shade of brown in my marker collection so I ended up leaving the mask in place and using a small stamp pad and dragged it up and down to color the walls.  After removing the mask I used a darker brown marker to fill in the spaces between the boards.  I used markers to color the potion shelf and then attached it to a folded black card and set it aside.

Next I stamped our Country Window on a separate piece of card stock and removed the "glass" from the windows with a blade and colored it.  The sky outside started as a scrap of card stock that I added a circle mask to and then sponged with blue and purple, removed the mask and colored the moon.  I added the white dots for stars with a pen and attached it to the back of the windows.  When I  tried to attach it to my card I found that it was a little too big so I had to do a little creative cutting with the blade around the 2 tall bottles on the shelf so I could put the curtains behind the bottles.

For my table I stamped the wood grain on scrap and after coloring it, I cut 2 small pieces for the table legs and used the rest for the table top.  I stamped both our new Bubbling Beaker and Witch Ya Greeting on scrap and after coloring I fussy cut the beaker and die cut the greeting and attached them.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Sue

Sue, this is soooo great. I love all the fun details you added to this. Each piece is so well thought out and designed using your fun stamps, and they all make the coolest little witchy brew room scene. Fun, fun, fun card!

Very cool, Sue! Love your paneled room w/ the potions under the window. A lot of work for sure, but it came out perfectly.
