Toasty Mittens and Frosty Friends

>> Wednesday, January 4, 2017

Today, I have another frosty card - can you tell that I am looking forward to some colder weather?

I started this card out by dipping some white card stock into a mixture of blue inks and water and letting it dry. This is one of my favorite ways to do a background and it is super easy. I had a few places that I didn't like so I stamped the Interlocking Snow Background with Versamark and embossed the images with white embossing powder. This gave it a frosty feel which is what I wanted in the first place so I am glad I had some bad spots on the panel.

I added in the new Winter Wonder Words Greeting and two mittens off the new Raised Mittens Skip Winter image to a separate panel.  I colored up the mittens using SU! Alcohol markers and sponged around them with some distress ink.

The card needed something else so I added three little Skippy the Penguins (aren't they adorable?). I just got this tiny little stamp and see a bunch of ways that I can use it.

Stay warm and many hugz!

Awesome bg, Nancy! The wintry blues are perfect w/ the white snowflakes. Great idea to use the mittens from the other image & your penguin parade is adorable.
