Skip Winter?

>> Monday, January 23, 2017

If you could skip winter would you?  I don't think I would, but sometimes when it is bitterly cold, that idea is tempting! DRS has recently released a fun new image that deals with this question.

I started with a white panel, stamped the new image with Memento Black ink, then stamped it to the left and right of the image without inking the words. I used various Copic markers to color all the mittens. Nest I stamped the icicle image with Memento Black ink. Instead of coloring them with Copics, I used Star Dust Stickles. When the stickles were dry, I created a mask and sponged TH Tumbled Glass ink on for the sky. The frame was created by stamping the interlocking snowflakes onto teal CS with VersaMark ink and heat embossing with white EP. A nestie rectangle die was used to cut out the frame. I used scorepal tape to adhere the frame to the image panel and then glued everything to the card front.

I masked off the inside to stamp the same snowflakes with SU Taken with Teal ink, added a teal border and then stamped the Baby it's cold outside greeting with Versafine Black Onyx ink.

Hope you are enjoying your weather no matter what it is!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Cute card Shelia! I love the icicles and the sparkily snow accents. Great pairing of stamps with the inside too!

This is wonderful, Shelia! Love the icicles and frosty white snowflakes on the blue frame. Makes me feel chilly just looking at it.

Sheila, love the mix of the raised hand image with the snowflakes and icicles. Your card so reflects icy and I know a lot of people are raising their hands in unison - skipping winter sounds so wonderful! Many hugz
