Blue January

Hi Everyone,
Looking at today's cards, it seems like I have the winter blues...lol! Actually, the weather hasn't been too crazy when it comes to snow around here, but I sure could do with a bit more sunshine :) I think that, even above the warmth is what I miss most during the winter. Anyway, I'm full on celebrating the cold with my cards today.
I began with a grey base card and embossed it using the Snow background stamp. I wanted to make sure they could be seen so I cut my background paper 1/2" smaller, so the edges would peek out more. I stamped the top half of the paper using the Raised Mittens stamp and colored them in different blue hues, and added a piece of snowflake embossed card stock underneath. I covered up the seam with a piece of white lace and added a die cut snowflake for embellishment.

I also embossed the Winter Wording Square before die cutting and matting it for my card. I tried to get the camera to pick up on the shine of the embossing in a close up, but I don't think I was too successful...
I'm also showing off this card today. It goes with the winter theme and it was quick to whip up. Again, I have a snowy embossed background and the Baby It's Cold Outside Greeting that I die cut and added a bit of light blue sponging too. I flanked it with two of the Stretch the Round Button Snowmen, because they fit the requirement of being cute and easy to color!
I also added a few mini snowflakes that were festooned with glitter glue to finish it off. Ha ha! I almost like the word festooned as much as making this card :)
Thanks for peeking in today and keep smiling....February is just around the corner!

These are both great Karin! I love how you used just the mittens as a background! I can see the embossing just fine if I click on the picture (you did good!) and I'm loving the word "festooned" as well :)
OMGoodness, your first card with the mitten border is just darling!! I love the lace and the big die cut snowflake to go along with it!
Your second card with that embossed bg is really cute! I love those snowmen!!
Fabulous cards, Karin! I really like how you used the mittens for part of the background. Beautiful embossing & those two snowmen are too cute!
I love both of your cards, the colors are perfect.
Karin, love your fun blue cards. The way you used the mittens as a border is such a creative idea and that card has so many awesome details. The twin snowmen are wonderful on the second card. Very creative and fun cards today. Hugz
These are super cute, Karin! Love the winter blue colors on both. The mittens across the top is such a great idea & I love the embossing behind your snowman twins.
