Distressed in Blue

>> Wednesday, July 6, 2016

There are some super fun new images coming to DRS Designs - hope you have seen them on the DT cards over the last week because they are fabulous.  I used 3 of the new images on my card today: a ruler, an island scene with:palm trees (the image has flamingos but I didn't use that part), and a wonderful sailboat.  The new images will be available in the store on 7.9.16.  I also used You are My Sunshine, Wood Grain Background, and Big Mouth Bass

I made this by first lightly stamping the Wood Grain Background Stamp, then the ruler,  the sailboat, and the palm trees from the island image.  Then I lightly sponged around the inside and heavier on the outside with Tim Holtz Distress inks.  I stamped the fish, fussy cut it, and then sprayed it with dylusions ink spay in London Blue.  I am still on my, "I don't want to color anything with markers mood."  Next I used a few stencils and sponged on some more Tim Holtz blue inks plus a little bit of white chalk paint.

Super quick and easy.

Nanc

This looks amazing! I love all the different stamps you used to create your nautical card! The weathered look and the blue color are both exceptional!

Cool bg Nancy, love the stenciling my friend!!
That fish is about to swallow your boat whole I think! Makes me think of Moby Dick Hee! Maybe Jonah...the fish is waiting for the other guys to throw him overboard!!
I LOVE how you used the Flamingo stamp, I will have to remember that when doing beach scenes (which I love to do during the summer)!! What a great idea!!! You are brilliant!

My first impression was a ship in a storm! I love how the wood grain backgrounds looks like rain and how you have the boat highlighted

This is a delight. Love how you have used the ruler and honeycomb and woodgrain stamps. The fish at the front is fun and such a lovely second focus. Quite genial in fact. If this needs a new home I would love this. I could look at this for hours. Thanks for sharing this beauty. Hugz
