Happy Summer!
>> Monday, June 20, 2016
It's the first day of summer and it sure feels like it here in NW Ohio. It was in the 90s yesterday and suppose to get even hotter today. Yikes! We aren't used to this kind of heat. I think today is a good day to sit under a shade tree and drink lemonade or sit by the pool and drink lemonade or maybe just stay indoors with the AC turned up high and relax!
I started this summer card by stamping several of the lemon slices onto Bazzil's bright yellow CS with VersaMark ink, heat embossing them with detailed white EP and then fussy cut them out. The Summertime sentiment was stamped on white CS with Versafine Onyx ink, cut down to size and layered on the same bazzil yellow CS. I wanted to frame the sentiment with the lemon slices, but they are just too big to go all the way around. Oh, I just realized I could have cut the slices in half! Oh well, I only framed part of the greeting with them, using foam dots for some dimension. A black gingham ribbon was added for some contrast. I do like this color combo.
Hope you are keeping cool! Thanks for stopping by,
shelia

Such a fun summery card! I love all the embossed lemons and the shape of your sentiment :) Super cute card!
Oh Shelia, the yellow and black make this card pop off the page and those lemons look fabulous.
Ok, this makes me want some lemonade!!! My sister made some on the weekend (strawberry/lemonade) It was so good with real tiny checks of the strawberries...all homemade! It was a little hard to suck those strawberry pieces up through my straw but I managed! Hee!
Your card is so bright and summery...love it!
Very fun card! Love all the lemons and the fun sketch. Yesterday was super hot here too - lemonade would have been a great idea! Fun card. Hugz
Such a happy card that has me wishing for a shady spot and a tall glass of lemonade!!
You got that right, Shelia! Too HOT! Lemonade sounds wonderful & so is your very refreshing card. So cute!
