Spring Flip Out
>> Saturday, April 2, 2016
Good morning!
Today I've used a score board, round die and a ruler to make my own flip card!
I also used a page from a book to stamp on (This idea came from Splitcoaststampers)
This is another spring card. To join the challenge click HERE.
I used 3 sizes of a nesting stitched circle die from My Favorite Things to make this.
Start with a piece of card stock 6 3/4" X 5" make a tracing of you circle so that the center is about where you want to make your first score at 2 3/8" (from left side) (Don't score all the way from top to bottom, just score to your traced circle and under it). Your next score line will be at 3 1/2" (from left side). Only score above and below your traced circle.
Now the tricky part, put your circle die on where you traced it and tape it down with removable tape then place you card into your cutter and put the top plate only to your first score line so that your die ONLY cuts to the score line. Turn the card 180 degrees and do the same for the other side (there will not be the same amount die cut on both sides don't worry if it looks funny). Put your plate to the score line not beyond, your die only cuts where the top plate is.
Now remove the die and fold on the score lines mountain then valley. Make sure your circle lines up well before making your folds tight with a bone folder, adjust if necessary to make sure there are no gaps. For the white pieces I just measured about 1/8" smaller all the way around and placed the next largest circle so that it would mat evenly. Do the same for both sides and decorate.
I used the next smaller circle to decorate my circle front and back.
Today I have used DRS stamps: 1098M Leaf Butterfly Spray, 744F Three Butterflies, 1073L Daffodil Butterfly Circle, and 750F Everyday a Miracle.
Thank you for visiting today and I hope you will try this simple but cool looking fold.
