Button Blessings

Good morning everyone!!
Talk about cute buttons, can you see the one on my bow? It is a bunny head
and the others are eggs!
DRS stamps used: 1108D Easter Egg with Bow, 688P Polka Dot Background, 241D Jelly Bean Jumble, 641P Large Original Plaid, 631P Open Plaid and 646D Christmas Blessings.
Miscellaneous: Martha Stewart Border Punch, embroidery floss, piercer, ribbon and buttons.
I started by using the plaid stamps in yellow and pink then border punched the bottom. I used the Polka Dot stamp on the pink strip, pierced it and hand stitched the edges then wrapped the gingham ribbon around it. I stamped the egg on white scrap and die cut it then colored with Copic Markers.
The yellow mat was die cut and stamped with a darker yellow ink and the Jelly Bean stamp.
For the sentiment, I did not have a one line Easter sentiment so I used just the Blessings part of a Christmas sentiment. Hey, It works! Since my plaid panel was completed I used the stamp aligner to make sure I stamped the Blessings straight.
To finish off my card I punched the bottom of the card base with the same border punch, then cut a pink mat 4 X 5 1/4 and punched the bottom of this one too. I made sure to start evenly on each layer so that they would line up correctly. I glued all the layers together then cut a strip of yellow 5 1/2 X 1/2" to line the bottom to make the front and back of the card even in height
(plus I like the look of it).
Each button is glued on with tacky glue. This card was a lot of little steps but it was a load of fun to make and it's so springy!
Well, can you believe it's March already? A quarter of the new year is about gone! How does it happen that the older I get the faster time goes by? Something is wrong with this picture!! But, I'm sure a lot of you just can't wait for spring to be here. My daffodils are up and blooming and the robins are in the front yard...hmmm, must be spring here already. Our weather is funny here though. Yesterday it snowed all around us (I live in the Sierra Nevada Mountains). It didn't get low enough to snow at our house but it was so pretty being all around. Spring bulbs are hardy around here because this type of thing happens all the time. Hopefully the robins have a warm spot!!
Thanks for visiting today and have a great weekend!
Robin
