Christmas Chickadee

>> Saturday, July 26, 2014

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a nice weekend and I hope it is cooler than where I am!! Ack! It is so hot here.  I live at about 2500' elevation but if I lived at about 4000' it would make about a 10 degree difference, let's move!!  My husband is up around the 8000' elevation today hiking with some kids.  I would have gone too but I'm teaching a class today, Ratz!  So, here's a card that might make us all feel cooler.
Today I have a cute little Christmas bird for you.  I've made him a Chickadee as you can see, he is singing away on a very chilly Christmas morning!!  I've used the "Out-of-the-box" technique to cut him out and then lined the circle with a silver leaf pen.  My blue background paper was made using a brayer covered with rubber bands.  I used a darker blue and also a white ink for this.  I then ran it through a Cuttlebug machine with a snowflake embossing folder. I ran the white panel behind the blue with the same folder and lined them both with the silver leaf pen.  My snowflakes are from a Cheery Lynn small snowflake die and I added blue baubles on to each.  Finally, I added the blue satin bow to the corner with a glue dot.

Just lovely! I never thought to use this little birdie on a holiday card, but it's so perfect! Your embossed background looks so wintery too!
