Hope You're Feeling Better!

>> Monday, February 3, 2014

This week's challenge at DRS Designs is to create a Get Well Card. With the subzero temps and all the snow we've had, get well cards may come in very handy soon! I saw a card on Pinterest that was my inspiration for these get well cards. I really like the CAS design.

I started by adding the strip of washi tape, cutting off the edge and punching the corners. The Get Well Soon sentiment was stamped in Memento Black. Some real red ink was sponged around the edges to give it some depth. The bandages were stamped on white CS with Memento Black ink, colored with Copics, fussy cut and attached to the card with glue dots. Some red glittery hearts were added to the centers of the bandages.

After making this first card I decided to use blue and pink CS. I started by stamping the Get Well sentiment in VersaMark ink, added the washi tape, cut the edge off, and rounded the corners with a corner punch. I stamped the Hope You're Feeling Better sentiment in Memento Black ink and then added the bandages like before. On the blue card, I left the bandages plain for a more masculine look. Some pink glittery hearts were added to the bandages on the pink card.

You still have time to join this week's challenge. We'd love to have you play along with us. You can see details here. Thanks for stopping by today.

Until next time,
shelia
