Holiday Cardinal
>> Tuesday, November 19, 2013
Hi Everyone,
Cardinals are one of my favorite birds. I love that they stick around Ohio for the winter, and seeing their pop of red against the stark white snow, is definitely one of those highlights during the long cold spell.
So, I was totally thrilled to see the soon to be released Small Cardinal stamp and couldn't wait to use it on a Christmas card. I colored it with Copics and die cut it using a Spellbinders rectangle die, and layered it on some paper made with the Woven Plaid. I added some printed ribbon and stamped the Beauty of Nature Christmas Greeting for my sentiment.
I finished my card with a few green half pearls and a die cut Poinsettia embellished with red Stickles.
I used to buy holiday cards with cardinals on them before I started stamping, but handmade is way more impressive in my opinion. I can't wait to send them out!
Thanks for stopping by!
Karin
