Happy Friday!
I'm back from vacation and now I need a vacation to rest up from my vacation! Does that happen to you? We did so much hiking up the mountains (well, there were steps, but kind of like a jillion of them), and sight seeing and EVERYTHING was uphill...both ways! There were a couple of times by the end of the day, my legs were so wobbly I could barely stand up. And forget about the altitude. After the first couple thousand feet, everyone starts to sound like a fish out of water. We live at around 1100 ft. but this was between 2000 and 6000 ft. Geez, Louise! Get me an astronaut suit! We also went to see the Biltmore and those folks had it all. Even a huge underground heated swimming pool. Turns out Mr. Vanderbilt was a friend of Thomas Edison so this place was one of the first built w/ all electric everything. Oh and a gazillion stairs. But they make up for it when you visit the winery and do a little (or a lot) of wine tasting. This card came about because of a color challenge on Splitcoast w/ an added challenge to make your own background. With DRS images, that's a piece of cake. And one of my fave things to do. Now I don't know that I would have every put these colors (brown, green, gray) together on my own, but I'm growing to like them. The green anyway. I'm not really a "brown" person. I don't even have a pair of brown shoes. The gray was just used as a shadow for the flowers.
The bday flower circle was die cut and layered on a stamped and die cut dot circle w/ a couple of choc layer in between. The bg has flowers stamped and some color added on top and the dots stamped in two colors on the bottom. I had some ribbon in the right colors so I used it to cover the center line. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend! And today's is my Dad's birthday, so Happy Birthday, Pop!

How nice it is! I like it from my heart.
Beautiful Julie, love the layers and background.
cute card, Julie. I like that color combo!! Hope you're rested up from your vacation!! :-)
Sounds like you had a great vacation! Love the birthday card this week...The polka dot brads coordinate perfectly! Cute :)
I was never a brown person either - but you make it look wonderful! I guess that's the "challenging" part of a challenge :)
Brown is normally so drab too, but you've made it fun - WTG!!!
