EASTER LILY AND CROSSES

>> Wednesday, March 7, 2012

Hello my friends! Today is DRS Designs Wednesday! Have you joined in the fun and the weekly Challenges with DRS Designs? Each Thursday, Drs Designs offers a challenge and a prize to a participant!  You can see the current challenge HERE.

To create my card today, I started with Heat embossing the Easter Oval with Lily and Crosses with Black Embossing Powder on Craft Card stock. I then colored the images in with Gamsol and Prisma Color Pencils. I cut out the frame using Paper Snips and layered it on Espresso Card stock.

I ran another piece of Craft Card stock through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing folder and layered that with the Espresso Cardstock. I folded the 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Pink Card stock in half and tied  two strips of Blue stitched Offray ribbon around with a bow to create the panels and adhered the diamond layers to the card stock. Using Dimensionals, I added the Easter Oval with Lily and Crosses layers to finish off the card.

On my second card today, I used the same set called Easter Oval with Lily and Crosses. I stamped, colored and cut out this image. I layered the image with a Spellbinders Oval in Orange Card stock. Using the Top Note Die, I cut out the White and Craft Card stock. I trimmed the border of the White Card stock and adhered it to the Craft Card stock. I ran it through the Big Shot again using the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder. I adhered the additional layers to the Top Note Die shaped card stock. I stamped the Four Corner Butterfly in the background using Crumb Cake Ink. Using ATG Tape, I adhered the White Cardstock with the  Butterfly Background to the Orange Cardstock and attached that to the 11" x 4 1/4" Craft Card stock.

Before adhering the Top Note Die card stock to the card base, I tied a orange grosgrain ribbon around it. To finish the card, I added 3 Dew Drops using Mini Glue Dots to adhere them to the card.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today! Have a wonderful day!

I love how you fussy cut the image! It shows off the great detail of the pretty flowers :) Love the orange color on the second one too!

Love both of these, Chris! The textured layer on the first really sets off the image. And that orange! Just the perfect touch!

So pretty Chris! I can't decide which I like better - the pastel or the brighter - I guess I"ll have to love them both!
