Happy New Year!
>> Monday, January 2, 2012
I hope everyone has had a great holiday. I have enjoyed spending the holidays with my family in Virginia. We have had so much fun together! Now that the new year is here, I guess it's time to head back home, return to work and more normal life. Not the most pleasant thought, is it?!! So today I'm sharing a card that I hope will bring some cheer!
DRS Designs has some really cute sentiments. This is one that I really like. Last week I shared a new years card with butterflies. This week's card has snowflakes, which some call winter's butterflies! Snowflakes and butterflies are two of my favorite things.
The sentiment is stamped in Not Quite Navy ink on white, cut with a square nestie and layered on a navy blue square. The background is made with two spellbinder labels. The light blue label is stamped in Not Quite Navy with the Swirling Snowflake stamp (168F). I added some tiny half pearls to the centers of some of the snowflakes on this layer. After adding the navy blue ribbon, I attached the sentiment with pop dots for some dimension. I added some small punched snowflakes with half pearls to the sentiment. I also sponged some Not Quite Navy ink around the edges of the white card to finish it off.
Hope this brings a bit of cheer to you this Monday!
Until next time,
shelia
