Wearing of The Green!

>> Monday, February 28, 2011

Happy Monday to all of you DRS fans! Hope you all had a great weekend!

Jennifer here to share another St. Patrick's Day card with you.  Today, Lucky Larry Leprechaun (643H) is dressed in green in honor of St. Patrick's Day!  He was colored with Copic Markers, and all of the white cardstock was distressed with green ink.  I ripped the white panel he was stamped on and the green panel I used to mat him with.  I haven't done that in a long time and I've forgotten what a unique look it adds to paper projects! I created a tag to show off the Tiny St. Pat's Day Sentiment (249A), and the yellow panel was stamped using the Celtic Knot image (651D) using SU! Apricot Appeal ink.  I used some brads and dark green grosgrain ribbon embellishments to dress up my card front.

Will you be wearing green on St. Patrick's Day?
Smiles,
Jennifer

In Sympathy

>> Sunday, February 27, 2011

Welcome!

One of my favorite cards to make is strangely, sympathy cards. I think it's because I tend to use nature stamps and very soothing colors. Anyway... here is a sympathy card I made earlier this week

I started by stamping a small piece of celery cs with our Sadness You're Feeling sympathy stamp using black ink and a second piece for the leaf layer using our Silhouette Branch stamp and vintage green ink. After trimming both and cutting a new piece of cs to 4" x 5 1/4" I sponged on a light edging of vintage green ink on all the edges and then gave them all a good distressing!

Gearing up for St. Patty's day!

>> Saturday, February 26, 2011

P

Happy Saturday to you all!  My creation today comes from the fun new St. Patrick's day releases from DRS Designs.  I used the shamrock circle, the four leaf clover and the great sentiment Drink Green Beer greeting.  I kept the colors simple so I went monochromatic with the green.  I used crystal effects on the four leaf clover and put a green bead in the center.  I plan to make a bunch of these!
Have a wonderful weekend

Easter Window

>> Friday, February 25, 2011

by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff

Happy Friday!
I hope y'all have been enjoying all the new DRS Designs St. Patrick's Day and Easter designs. Since I've been showing the St. Paddy's images the last few weeks, I thought I show you an Easter design. I love this Spring Flower Suncatcher image and it not only works wonderfully for Easter, it would also make lovely Spring cards for birthdays or Mother's Day.

The Suncatcher was stamped twice and colored w/ markers. One was die cut w/ a circle die and I cut out just the flowers from the second image and layered them on top of the base image. After using an embossing folder on a piece of white c/s, I layered it onto a larger turquoise piece and then onto the 4.25 x 5.5 white card. Using the same circle die, I cut out a circular window through the layered card front and attached my image on the inside of the card.

I die cut a lacy circle frame out of turquoise and attached it on top of the opening. A paper crimper was used on the ends of the turquoise band and the greeting (w/ rounded corners) was attached on top. The main sentiment was stamped on the inside of the card and stickles was added to the flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Supplies: stamps: Spring Flower Suncatcher ,Happy Easter , Blooming Easter Greeting
paper: white, turquoise

ink: Ancient Page coal

accessories: circle & lacy circle dies, markers, water brush, paper crimper, sm. corner rounder, embossing folder, stickles

Time to get ready for March and St Patty's Day is right around the corner.
Spring cannot be far behind!
Today I am featuring a new release from DRS Designs
. I have used the sentiment:Drink Green Beer (644G)along with the Large Beer Mug (557H). I added some Ranger stickles to mimic the beer foam and colored the beer mug with copics. I also used the Woven plaid stamp (613P) to create the background. I just love that plaid stamp (613P). It is so easy and versatile to use.

Another clean and simple card! I used the new Martha Stewart punch anywhere punch for the fancy squares. I used the floral embossing folder to dress them up a little. The card base was embossed with the same folder. I added a vellum butterfly to each square. The sentiment is a new release by DRS Designs. A border punch, ribbon and some jewels finished things off.

Top O' the Morning!

>> Tuesday, February 22, 2011

Hi Everyone!

I'm here today with another card to celebrate St. Patty's Day!

All of the stamps that I used on my card today, can be found in the new releases section of DRS Designs.  The Celtic Knot is stamped across the bottom, and the Shamrock Circle was stamped and cut out with my Nesties.  Lucky Larry Leprechaun was stamped, colored with Copics and then fussy cut and layered on top of my wreath.  Finally, after stamping my sentiment Top O' the Morning, I cut it into pieces and inked the edges, so that it would fit on my card.

The shamrock ribbon has been in my stash of stuff for at least 2 years, so I'm always happy when I can use something up ;)

Be sure to stop by DRS Designs to see these stamps, as well as all of the new Easter ones too.

  Have a great day!

Open Your Heart At Easter

>> Monday, February 21, 2011

Posted by Jennifer E.

One of the things I really enjoy about the stamps DRS Designs has, is the wide selection they offer for just about any occasion.   With the Easter season upon us, I find myself making more religious cards now than any other time of year.  Today I'm sharing my latest creation showing off the newly released Faith Open Heart Greeting (657H) that I've paired with the Cross with Flowers image (103K)

I colored the cross with Copic Markers and then carefully cut it out.  I adhered it to a piece of matted pink cardstock that was dry embossed with the Textile Texture Cuttlebug folder.  I used a sheet of smooth pink cardstock for the card front and inked the edges with Colorbox Rouge Chalk Ink.  After using a corner rounder, I stamped the sentiment along the upper left side and adhered the matted image next to it.  I stamped the One Line Happy Easter Greeting (665B) at the bottom of the card front and added pink and white plaid ribbon and a bow just above it.  I then adhered the card front to a brown A2 sized cardstock base.  A touch of pink glitter added to the flowers finished this card nicely.  Hope you enjoyed it!

For those of you who are interested you can see DRS Designs entire Easter Collection HERE, and all of their religious stamps HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

Smiles,
Jennifer

Lucky Larry the Leprechaun

>> Sunday, February 20, 2011

Welcome!

Is this year flying by or what??? I can't believe it's almost March already. The only good thing is that Spring is on it's way! Yeah!

I have a St. Patrick's card for you today using our new Lucky Larry the Leprechaun stamp.

I started my card by folding a piece of green card stock in half, then cutting out the shamrock shape. I sponged on a little darker green on the edges to add a little pizzazz, then stamped each petal of the shamrock with a portion of our new Top O' the Morning stamp using clear ink and gold embossing powder. Larry was stamped, colored and cut then mounted on a white mega scallop circle that I sponged yellow on the edges that attached to the center of the shamrock.

Happy Easter Butterfly!

>> Saturday, February 19, 2011

Good morning!  I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday:)  I made a rather quick card today with DRS Designs Butterfly on Eggs and our new sentiment Happy Easter.  I stamped the image in versamark and embossed in black, colored and then cut it out and put on dimensionals.  I used colors that reminded me of Easters when I was a wee one.  Colors:  so saffron, almost amethyst, gable green orange, summer sun, pink passion, regal rose and black.  I rounded the corners and stamped happy easter and cut out with scalloped oval punch.
I hope you all have a great day and stop by DRS Designs for some fun stamps:)

Green Beer

by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff

Happy Friday to you!
I hope you all had a super sweet Valentine's Day! Doesn't a little green beer sound good after the Valentine chocolates? NOT! I think I'll just be content to look at the green beer on the card.

I'm using several fun new St. Patrick's Day images on my card. The red headed leprechaun was stamped, colored and cut out. He's attached to a shamrock circle I stamped and die cut. I stamped a few more half circles on lt green and cut the lower edge for the swag at the top.

The beer mug was stamped with the green/yellow part of a rainbow pad and the greeting was stamped on top. I used a dot border embossing folder across the top of the green layer before attaching everything to a 5.5 x 4.25 white card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Supplies:
stamps: Larry Leprechaun, Shamrock Circle, Drink Green Beer Greeting, Lg Beer Mug
paper: white, emerald, lt green
ink: Ancient Page coal, Kaleidacolor Melon Melody
accessories: circle die, markers, water brush, dot border embossing folder

Okay Valentine's Day is over, so let's move on to our next holiday.
Yes: it's St. Patrick's Day.
DRS Designs just released the most adorable stamps to celebrate our next holiday.
How cute is this little bear: Paddy Bear 638H. Do you love him? I do. I had so much fun coloring him with copics and giving him a little pearl for his bow tie. I stamped the background with the shamrock background (326H) stamp and added the Happy St. Patrick's Day sentiment (636D).

sometimes you just need to have a little! Hi There, welcome back to another Wednesday, middle of the week, (yay) post with me, Cathy. Well, we're already half way through February...spring really is just around the corner! I have a somewhat springy card for you today...another clean and simple one!

This is such a pretty new sentiment by DRS, I just had to make it the focal image of my card. Some prima flowers, jewels, a ribbon and some Michaels bridal flowers (for leaves) finished things off. I used an embossing folder for my white panel which was adhered to the card base with pop dots.

This was a fun, quick and easy card. When you're busy, that's the best kind!!! Clean, simple and just a bit elegant if I do say so myself!!!

Thanks for checking in...
See you soon...

Happy Easter

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for visiting us today.  I hope you love seeing the new stamps that were released by DRS Designs.  This new Easter Daffodil Oval stamp has really put me in the mood for some sunshine and warmth. Don't you just love to see spring flowers in full bloom?  I began by stamping the image, cutting it out with my Nesties and finally coloring it in with my Copic markers. The Interlocking Flowers always look sweet and dainty and make a great base for spring cards. I added a metal embellishment from my stash which simply says, "Rejoice".

Here is a closer shot of the flower detail and Stickles for some shine.

Thanks again for checking in to see what's new.  Be sure to visit the new releases at the DRS Designs store soon!

Showing Off Love!

Happy Valenswine's Day!

While cleaning off my stamping table over the weekend, I realized that it's been a while since I've used flowers on any of my cards.  The only way to end that streak was to get busy making one that could use a few, and so I did! I came up with this cute and easy Cupig Valentine that also fits along with this week's "Show Some Love" Challenge on the Spoonfull of Sugar Blog.  DRS Designs is the sponsor for this challenge and one lucky participant will win a $10 store voucher for playing along.  (Hurry, you have until tomorrow, Tuesday Feb 15th to enter this challenge!)

I started by first coloring Cupig (607G) with Copic Markers, and matting it with a scalloped piece of pink cardstock.  I stamped the Valenswine's Day Greeting (616C) on a white cardstock panel that was matted with pink cardstock as well.  Next, I added red grosgrain ribbon tied in a knot under the greeting and adhered the Cupig image as shown.  The pink cardstock base measures 5.5" x 4.25" and was layered with a red cardstock embossed with a heart design.  I adhered the matted image and sentiment panel to the center of the card front.  Finally, I layered some paper and fabric flowers attached with heart brads around the image and added a bit of Stickles to Cupid's wings for a touch of sparkle.  Cute and easy, wouldn't you agree?

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I wish you all a very Happy Valentine's Day full of love.
Smiles,
Jennifer

Welcome!

I made this quick and easy card by randomly stamping our Texture Butterfly using a rainbow pad. My next step was making a mask of the butterfly so I could put the Silhouette Branch behind them using Memories Soft Leaf ink.

I attached the background to a folded purple card, then stamped our New Faith Saying on white using blue ink and stamped the Triple Crosses in the background using Memories Soft Lilac ink and after cutting the smaller purple layer I attached it directly to the background, then used 1/4" foam tape to pop up the saying.

A top o' the morning!

A top o' the morning to you!  Today's creation comes from the fun new releases from DRS Designs and I used Paddy Bear 638U, Top o the morning greeting 620D and the four leaf clover 890A.  I colored with SU! markers in crumb cake, soft suede, gray and pear pizazz.  I punched the four leaf clovers out, added ribbon, a button and some paper piercing in the corner (though it's hard to see).  Don't miss out on the new releases over at DRS.......lots of fun and Easter stamps, too!

Take care,

Celtic Cross

>> Friday, February 11, 2011

by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff

Happy Friday!
I hope your week has been terrific! We had snow again yesterday. But luckily, it was only about and inch and didn't hang around like last time. Has this winter been extra cold or what??

Are y'all about ready for spring? When St. Paddy's Day comes, that means the first day of spring is only a few days away. For this card, I'm using the new Celtic Knot image and I fashioned a Celtic Cross with it. A little masking here and there and some shading with a green maker; a little more masking and I stamped the Knot Mega circle to complete my cross. I cut out two extra knots and layered them in opposite directions in the center and added a little stickles. I drew a green border and added two green layers and lightly sponged around the edges.

The edges of my 4.25 x 5.5 card were also stamped with the knot and I added the greeting at the bottom and a little bow at the top.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Supplies:
stamps: Celtic Knot, Knot Mega Circle, One Line St. Pat's Greeting
paper: white, emerald, lt green
ink: Vivid Spring Green
accessories: lt green marker, stickles, ribbon

Open Your Heart

>> Tuesday, February 8, 2011

Good Morning Everyone,

It's Karin posting today's card here at the blog.  DRS Designs is the sponsor of the challenge at A Spoonful of Sugar where the theme is "Let's See Some Love" in honor of Valentine's Day.  Have you made a card for your sweetheart yet?  Well, if you play along, you will have a chance at winning a $10.00 voucher to DRS Designs...Woo-Hoo!

I decided to use one of our newest stamps Faith Open Heart, for the greeting on the front.  Since it mentions keeping an open heart, I chose to pair it with the Filigree Heart that was a recent release from last month and made it into a 3-D element for the card.  I stamped the heart 3 times in black ink and Versamark, and then embossed them using my heat gun and clear powder.  After cutting them out, I folded them in half, glued them together and adhered the two sides to my card.

Here is a closer shot of the sentiment and the heart.  The background was made using the Girl Swirl stamp.

I hope you make the time to play along at the Spoonful of Sugar Challenge where you have a chance to win a $10.00 voucher to DRS Designs!

Have a great day!

Easter Daffodils

>> Monday, February 7, 2011

One of my favorite things about Spring and Easter is daffodils.  Next to the Sunflower in the Fall, they are one of my favorite flowers.  I especially enjoy coloring them and creating cards using images of them.  I was so excited to see the Easter Daffodil Oval (663L) in the New Releases from DRS Designs.  Especially with the brutal Winter we are having this year, it was so nice to relax and stamp with thoughts of warm weather not far from around the corner!

I colored this image with Copic Markers and stamped it a second time so that I could layer the Daffodil blooms.  A bit of Yellow Stickles really makes these blooms beautiful and I love how the drying process curled the edges up a bit.  The Blooming Easter Greeting (660F) is also one of DRS Designs New Releases.  I think it goes great along side this image.   The background was dry embossed and only ribbon was used to embellish this card as I didn't want to take away from the image itself.  Finished card size is A2, 4.25" x 5.5".

Here's hoping that Spring is right around your corner, too!
Thanks for visiting!

Smiles,
Jennifer

Getting a jump on St. Pats Day!

>> Sunday, February 6, 2011

Welcome!

I had a slow start using our New St. Patrick's Day and Easter Stamps, but once I got going I really "got my groove on"! So far this card is my favorite! - probably :)

I started my card by stamping our new Celtic Knot on a 2 3/4" x 5 1/2" piece of black cs. I had 2 things to worry about to make my line of images. They all had to be even across the top and overlap side by side the same amount. To make them even across the top I used the edge of my acrylic mount to line up with the top of my paper, then all I had to worry about was the side by side. Even that wasn't too bad since I could see through the acrylic! I stamped the center image first then worked out from either side using versamark ink and then used gold embossing powder.
The rest was simple! I stamped and embossed our New Happy St. Patrick's Greeting using the same ink and ep, cut out the top of the design and then adhered the black cut out to a folded green card leaving about 1/8" of green showing at the bottom!

I was having soooo much fun I decided to make another one, only this time I wanted to jazz it up a little, so I choose one "knot" and colored it using a versamark pen and covered that with some green embossing tinsel. Now I'm not sure which one is my favorite favorite!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Beautiful Moments

>> Saturday, February 5, 2011

Happy day everyone! My wish is for my garden to look like this YESTERDAY:) We have had a pretty uneventful winter until the past 2 and a half days.........sub-zero temps. It all started with about 4" of snow and then the school district decided to cancel school on Tuesday. I believe it got to about -10 without the wind chill factor. THEN they canceled school for today, too. Oh, brother. So I had my high schooler home today, which was nice...two days in a row.
On to my card. My sentiment is the Blooming Easter greeting from DRS Designs. Also from DRS is the Flower fence with butterflies. I colored the image with markers and sponged marina mist for the sky and pear pizazz for the ground. I paper pieced the birdhouses
Marker colors: pear pizazz, crumb cake, cameo coral, bashful blue, pink pirouette, daffodil delight, black.
Paper: cameo coral, pear pizazz, marina mist, white
Accessories: ribbon from MFP's, dimensionals, sponge
I hope that a wonderful weekend is in store for everyone!

Irish Teddy

>> Friday, February 4, 2011

by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff

And a Top o' the Mornin' to you!
I hope you're keeping warm this Friday. A lot of folks have had 'snow days' this week and if you're one of them, I hope you have lots of stamps to help you through.

My little Irish Teddy is all decked out in his shamrock vest and hat and he can't wait for St. Paddy's Day. Green (any shade) is my all time fave color so if I wasn't already of Irish descent, I would still love the wearin' o' the green! Teddy was stamped twice, colored w/ markers and cut out. I layered the extra head and right arm/leg on top of the base image for a little dimension. I stamped Everything Irish w/ rainbow ink and die cut w/ an oval die. I used a larger, oval shaped die for the green and since my greeting is unmounted, I was able to curve it slightly to fit the shape.

I stamped the woven plaid w/ the same ink for the background, then stamped the little shamrock on top. On the darker green, I inked the woven plaid w/ a dk green marker and used this for the little brad like circles and little shamrock punch outs. The finished card measures 5.5 x 4.25.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great Super Bowl weekend!

Supplies:
stamps: Paddy Bear, Top o' the Morning!, Everything Irish, Woven Plaid, Four Leaf Clover
paper: white, lt green, emerald green
ink: Ancient Page coal, Kaleidacolor Melon Melody rainbow ink (only the greens & yellow part)
accessories: markers, ribbon, oval and shaped dies, small shamrock punch, 1/4 inch hole punch

Here is my warm wishes card...

I stamped the new woven plaid stamp from the last release of images on a swatch of fabric that I picked up at Pottery Barn. It is stamped in brown and blue, although you can't really see the blue :(. I used the argyle embossing folder, distressing all cardstock layer edges. A felt ribbon, a tab stamped with "warm wishes" and some buttons, finished things off.

Be sure to check out the team members blogs...we all have peeks at new release images. Fun and pretty images to get you ready for Spring!!
