You're the Song in My Heart
>> Tuesday, January 25, 2011
Hi Everyone,
It's Karin posting today, and I say that mainly because I thought you might not know it's me from the card style today. I tried to step outside of my comfort zone and make a card that had a vintage flair to it.
I distressed the edges of my papers and used some distress ink to give it an aged quality. I stamped the one side of the background with the new Girl Swirl stamp; I love that it matches the new Filigree Heart exactly. I stamped the heart, cut it out and covered it in crackle glaze. Once it was dry, I bent it until it cracked and then rubbed distress ink all over it. I also added a lace heart, and the music notes are pieces of Tim Holtz paper tape. So easy to use. All these elements tied into the sentiment Song in my Heart.
Here is a closer shot of the crackle heart...
Thanks for visiting with me at the blog today, and you can check out all of the stamps from DRS Designs here.
Have a good one!

Gorgeous card Karin! That heart looks fabulous! ~Diane
Wonderful Card!! You do as well outside of your zone and you do inside :) I love the black/ivory combination.
So glad you stepped out Karin! I love this card and vintage isn't 'my thing'. Great job!
Karin, this is spectacular. I love the vintage look and I especially like a musical scored used for the vintage look. I'm a big fan, too of using crackle glaze/ crystal effects for a cracked glass look. Nicely done.
Great job decorating this card to match the sentiment and creating out of your comfort zone!
This is so beautifully romantic, Karin! Love the vintage look and that heart doily is perfect. Love your cracked glass heart.
