So Many Candles!

Do you have those friends and family members that you can really joke about how old they're getting when their birthday rolls around every year? This "So Many Candles" sentiment from DRS Designs is perfect for occasions like that! I've paired it on this card with the Girly Swirly Birthday Cake just to emphasize the joke even more. At first glance the image is some-what elegant, and then you read the sentiment and the punch line just falls into place!


I colored the cake image with the Prismacolor Pencils/Gamsol technique and Bic Markers. The silver platter was colored with gray Copic Markers. I cut the image out using my Nesties Labels 1 die and sponged light yellow ink around it while it was still in the Nesties die. I stamped the sentiment in red ink on the lower portion of a separate piece of white cardstock. I used my SU! Horizontal slot punch to create an opening on either side of the sentiment so I could add some red ribbon to the card front.


As a finishing touch, I added yellow Stickles to the floral accents, the large yellow flower and on each candle flame. I also added silver Stickles to the decorative circles on the serving platter.
