Birthday Humor Sparkles!

Birthday cards always seem to be in short supply in my stash, so I decided to use the new birthday releases from DRS to replenish my supply. DRS has a great group of birthday images and a wonderful variety of birthday sentiments , too -- funny, serious, and everything in between!

For those recipients who appreciate a little humor, this card that seems like any other birthday card until you read the sentiment:

Stamps: Girly Swirly Cake, Girly Swirly Flowers, So Many Candles sentiment. Cardstock: River Rock, Almost Amethyst, Purely Pomegranate, GP110 white. Ink: Memento,Copics, Purely Pomegranate, Almost Amethyst. Accessories: Circle and Long Rectangle Nestabilities, Double-stitched Pomegranate ribbon, slot punch.

For a little extra sparkle, I used 'Candlelight' Shimmerz around the candles for a glowing effect:

For the next card, the sparkle on the cupcake is from chunky glitter. I also paper-pieced the cupcake wrapper with pieced of coordinating paper stamped with the same Interlocking Flower Background used on the red panel:
