Welcome Stampers!!!

Did everyone have a great week??? I did!!! One thing that went very well is todays card! Yeah!!! It started out as a background layer for a different card, it was too busy for that but I absolutely love it here! Just goes to show, everything has its place!

Here are the stamps I used this week ~

I started by stamping our new silhouette branch background stamp using clear versamark ink on my 4.25 x 4.25 bright blue cardstock.
As per usual, I embossed using clear embossing powder (usually it's a preference, but in this case you really need to emboss.)

My next step was to brayer on some lavender dye ink.
I didn't worry too much about lines or keeping it even - I just did it quickly and had some fun.

I then went back to stamping, using the same stamp and ink. I sort of aimed for the blank areas, but overlapping was okay too.

I embossed this as well, using clear embossing powder again. And then used my brayer once more too.

It was a little back and forth, but in the end, it's a background I simply love.

To make my card, I stamped my sentiment on bright blue cardstock and dry brushed the edges with lavender ink and layered that with black paper. I cut a small strip of black paper and attached it diagonally in the corner, and taped it all together. It was still lacking something so I took a page out of Cathy's book and added the bling that she says no card should be without. She was right!! it was the perfect finishing touch! All I needed to do was attach it to my folded black card, and then celebrate a job well done ;)

Thank you all for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments!
See you next week!!

What a fun and beautiful way to create texture! I really like this image embossed in the clear -- it would be elegant all on its own, too!
