Challenge #2 - Piercing

>> Monday, August 18, 2008

Welcome to the second DRS Designs blog challenge - piercing!! Paper piercing is an easy, inexpensive way to add alot of style to your cards. You don't need alot of supplies, just a large needle or paper piercer (a little longer than a needle so it's easier to use), a mat (a folded piece of fun foam works great) and either a piercing template or some scrap needlepoint canvas (anything with evenly spaced holes).
We would love for you to play along with us in this challenge and/or our previous one (inchies - link on the side bar). There is no time limit...just post a direct link to your project in the appropriate challenge post so we can come take a look at it. If you upload to SCS please use keyword: DRSC2.

Get your ideas flowing with inspiration from our design team...if you would like more detail on each of the cards, please click on the designers blog/gallery link...

Jessica George used simple straight line piercing to accent the silver cardstock strip on this Snowflake Slider card:

Piercing directly on the Peaceful Star cardstock base allows light to shine through when the card is on display:

Cathy Indelicato/Crafty Thoughts...I used an Ornare paper piercing template on my green panel...

Vicki Parson/ Stamped Smiles used peircing to create faux stitching and decorative corners:

So many fun ideas for piercing that I never would have thought of on my own -- the bee trail, the grid, and more. Guess that's why I like these challenges so much; lots of ideas! Great cards, Ladies!
