Christmas Memories

>> Monday, October 24, 2011

Wow, is it Monday again already? I just got back from spending a week at the beach in SC with my son and his family. We celebrated our darling granddaughter's second birthday while there. I have such fond memories of our week together. And I think that must be why I like this new sentiment from DRS designs so much.

Christmas memories are extra special. This card was made using the Lingering Christmas Memories Stamp (870H). The background was created using the embossed resist technique. I stamped the snowflakes (096D) with embossing ink and embossed them with clear powder. After heat setting the snowflakes, I sponged bashful blue ink all around the snowflakes. The embossed snowflakes stay white, while the rest of the card stock absorbs the blue ink. The result is so pretty. The sentiment is stamped in black, then cut out with nesties and popped up on a scalloped circle. Three small punched snowflakes were added around the sentiment. I thought about adding ribbon and a bow, but I didn't want to hide any more of the embossed background!!

I hope you are working on those Christmas cards!!

until next time, shelia
