More Fun with Folds -- Scalloped Treat Box

Ever since Challenge #14 to create a Valentine treat posted so many fun treat ideas, I've been in a candy kind of mood. I promised a series of fold techniques during my Thursday posts, so I was thrilled to see the February 2009 edition of Scor-Pal's online magazine featuring Kitty Franken and her ten different treat containers! I chose the Nesties Treat Box since it is the perfect size to contain another easy treat idea, scalloped mints.

Supplies: Ribbon Heart F358 . Cardstock: Real Red, Lovely Lilac, GP110 white. Ink: Memento black, copics. Accessories: Scallop and circle punches.

Here are my copics used -- only a few this time!

The mints are adhered between scalloped circles, so this is the side view:

The treat container itself is an open box sandwiched between two large Nesties circles. It's a little easier to see the construction from the side:

Stamps: Silhouette Love Heart D213, Giga Heart Circle L273 , Large Original Plaid P641 . Cardstock: Real Red, Lovely Lilac, GP100 white. Ink: Real Red, Lovely Lilac. Accessories: Giga scallop circle, Nestabilities circle, Scor-Pal, hole punch, organdy ribbon.

The tutorial was easy to follow and it would be so easy to not only use this project with the Giga Heart Circle image for Valentines Day, but to convert it to other holidays with the other fun punch stamps available at DRS Designs, like the brand new Giga Birthday Circle!

Have fun creating your own Valentine treats and be sure to link a photo back to Challenge #14 so we can admire them, too!
