The Color Dance of Fall

>> Wednesday, November 7, 2018

This past weekend, we stayed at a wonderful Bed and Breakfast in the Smoky Mountains to celebrate my birthday. The colors of the trees were amazing and all the fruit/vegetable stands had lots of pumpkins and Fall squashes.  It was wonderful.  We didn't do any hiking, but we drove around and  absorbed all the delightful views we could find.  Today my cards celebrate those colors.

For this card, I stamped the new Hanging Sign Post image and then colored it up.  I used pointillism and a Spectrum marker to make the sky.  I then stamped the Pumpkin Pile image on a separate paper.  I colored it up, cut it out, and popped it up against the sign post.  Next I stamped the new 4-in-1 Harvest Designs to get a few flowers to pop on the sign that I stamped with the Autumn In the Air stamp.  This looks just like a scene we would have seen on our many drives.

My next card was made using the 1 line Beauty of Autumn stamp and a bunch of die cut leaves and foliage (Tim Holtz Winter Foliage dies and SU! In the Woods die) plus the Tim Holtz tree ring die.  All the colors are actually from the SU! Color Challenge a few weeks ago - I just loved them as Fall colors.  We saw lots of \pinks and corals in the mountains this weekend.

Hope your week is going well!

Many hugz,

Nancy, your trip sounds wonderful! The Smoky Mountains are beautiful! Love your cars today. The pointillism background on the first is so pretty & the sign post & pumpkins really pop on it. The leaves are gorgeous on your second card.
