Happy New Year!

>> Monday, December 31, 2012

Hope everyone is ready to ring in the New Year tonight!  I have a simple New Card to share with you today.

The card base is white with a layer of navy and red card stock added before the white layer that's been stamped the the Snow background in Night of Navy. Before attaching this panel to the others, I added a navy ribbon with a red button and some red baker's twine. The New Year sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy on white, then layered on red and navy cut with nestie dies. I punched opposite corners for some added interest. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Until next time,

Warm Wishes

>> Sunday, December 30, 2012

Hi all, I hope you had a great Christmas. I had a wonderful time with family and friends. It was a gray foggy day not to cold, but the next day the rain and wind moved in with a few snowflakes winter has come to Georgia.

For my card today I chose a winter theme. I used the DRS designs Medium Filigree Snowflake, Ice Skates, and the Warm Wishes Greeting.

For the background I tried the Twinkling H2O’s tutorial form Splitcoast Stampers. I stamped the Medium Filigree Snowflake in Versa Mark and clear Embossing Powder on white paper using Blue Ice and Periwinkle Twinkling H2O’s. The Ice Skates were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers, I used the Lables 18 Spellbinder Die to cut out the image then Blue Ice Twinkling H2O’s were used to color the background with the image still in the die. I traced around the die onto black paper and cut it out with scissors.  The Warm Wishes Greeting was stamped with black ink and the background was colored with the Twinkling H2O’s while it was still in the die. The background was layered onto black card then attached to a white card.

Stay warm and have a Happy New Year,

Janett

WInter Snowflakes

>> Friday, December 28, 2012

by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff

Happy Friday!
Happy New Year! When New Year comes around, I know I'll need a birthday card for one of my sisters-in-law. And since she's the only true winter birthday and lives where they usually have snow, I thought this greeting and all the snowflakes would be perfect.

Winter and snowflakes always make me think of shades of icy blue. So I stamped the Lg Filigree Snowflake and 4 in 1 Snowflakes with white pigment ink and white embossed them for the large background. Then I sponged on all the blue inks then stamped a few more of the 4 in 1 snowflakes on top with clear ink and clear embossed them. I like the dimension the different inks and embossing give t the background. The Winter Wording Square was also white embossed and sponged before cutting out and attaching to a white layer. On the inside I stamped the Snow Doubt Birthday Greeting on the inside. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a Great New Year!
Supplies:
paper: white
ink: Colorbox frost white pigment, VersaMark, Kaleidacolor Blue Breeze

New Years - Quick and Easy

>> Wednesday, December 26, 2012

Welcome!

Happy day after!  If you're like me, you're taking it a little easy today to recover from the past month!

If you're also like me, you didn't get all your Christmas cards sent, so New Years Cards are the perfect answer!

My card today was stamped and heat embossed using gold ink/powder and then the stars were colored in silver.  My sentiment was stamped in black and both were attached to black cs.  Relatively quick and easy (except for the coloring!)

Thanks for stopping in, and please remember because of the holidays we're extending last weeks torn paper technique until January 9th.  Good Luck!

Merry Christmas

>> Tuesday, December 25, 2012

Hi Everyone,

It's pretty obvious why I chose to post this card on the blog today :)  If you are celebrating the holiday, I hope this finds you doing well and celebrating in a way that is most pleasing to you. Whether you are in the company of friends and loved ones, or furry friends or knee deep in crafts, I wish you all the hope this season brings.

It's an honor and a privilege to be able to share my love of stamping using the wonderful stamps from DRS Designs.  As a member of the design team, I look forward to Tuesday here with you, so I'm grateful that you take time out of your day to stop by and see what we have to show you :)

Here are the stamps I used to make this card:

I added some Stickles to the berries and the jingle bells were stamped on to pre glittered paper and then fussy cut and used as embellishments.

I'm keeping it short today, but here's wishing you all a Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Eve

>> Monday, December 24, 2012

Merry Christmas Everyone! I trust today finds you able to rest, relax and enjoy family and friends as you celebrate Christmas. For today I thought it appropriate to share a card that features the true reason for the season.

I used green, red and cream shimmery card stock to create this Christmas card. The cream is embossed with the CB snowflake folder. The ornaments were die cut with the Spellbinders ornament dies. The two larger ones were stamped in gold ink and embossed with gold embossing powder using the new small nativity stamp and the Silent Night greeting. The smaller ornaments were embossed with the CB swiss dots folder. Some gold cord was added to make them look like they were really hanging. Hope you like it. Thank you for stopping by today.

Have a blessed Christmas!!

Until next time,

Snowmen

>> Saturday, December 22, 2012

Hi Everyone,

It's Karin filling in for Pam today, and I have a simple little card share today using that cute little snowman stamp.  I showed this off on my blog last week to participate in a challenge, but since we had our first snowfall of the year yesterday, I thought I would share it here too.

I needed another Christmas card for mailing to a friend, so I kept it pretty flat and simple using the traditional red and green holiday colors for my card. Tiny Snowman was the stamp, and the sentiment came from only inking that one phrase up from the Christmas Multi Greeting background stamp.

I embossed the background and had one last piece of washi tape left, so I put that along the middle of the card base.  However, once I added the twine, you really can't see it.

Well, I still have a bit of baking to finish up with today and then I will be mostly ready.  Yay!  I think I finally figured out the secret.  If you wait until the last minute to bake, that doesn't leave you anytime to sneak any treats!  lol!  I gotta remember that for next year!

Have a great day!

Happy Holidays!

>> Friday, December 21, 2012

by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff

Happy Friday before Christmas!
One more Christmas card before the big day! Hopefully y'all are well on your way to a very Merry Christmas...packages all wrapped, thinking about the cooking or family on their way.

For my Christmas card, I stamped, colored and cut out the French Horn. I had this leftover white bg that I had splattered w/ red so I punched the poinsettia three time across the top and embossed the bottom then attached it to a larger red panel. I stamped the greeting on either side and used a template and white gel pen to add the faux stitching down the sides. A little simple and didn't take a huge amount of time, which is good w/ all that still left to do.

Thanks so much for stopping by and y'all have a very Merry Christmas!

Supplies:
stamps: Christmas French Horn, Vertical Happy Holidays
paper: white, red
ink: Memento tuxedo black
accessories: Copic markers, stitch template, white gel pen, poinsettia punch (All Night Media),  embossing border folder (Cuttlebug)

Happy "Holly" Days

>> Wednesday, December 19, 2012

Hi Friends!
This is one of my Christmas card designs that I created to send to my stamping friends.

I received a card made with this type of layout a while back and always wanted to try it.  As you can see, I made it a point to use it for one of my Christmas cards this year.  I love the unique folding style of this card! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find a tutorial on this specific kind of card, but it seems to be a cross between a Double Z-Fold card and a Gate Fold Card.  Finished card size is A2-4.25" x 5.5"

I created my own background papers by stamping DRS Designs Polka Dot Background (688P) with red and green ink.  I stamped it vertically with one color and then horizontally with the second color so that 2 colors weren't stamped on top of one another.  It created a really fun pattern! The left half of the Happy "Holly" Days sentiment (888B) is adhered to the left panel and the right half of the Girl Swirl Holly (887G) is adhered to the right side of the card.  The way the card is folded, it stays closed by tucking the left side panel behind the Holly image you see on the card front, and to open, you  tug lightly on the the left panel, and it slides out from underneath the holly image.  All of the edges were distressed lightly with green ink and I added Diamond Glaze to the holly berries to make them stand out.

Thanks for taking time to stop by today.  I know this is a very busy time of year for everyone and I appreciate your visit more than ever!

Happy "Holly" Days,
Jennifer

Merry Christmas

>> Tuesday, December 18, 2012

Good Morning Everyone,

As far as I'm concerned, the big countdown starts today, because Christmas is one week away! How's your holiday prep going?  I'm somewhere between Yikes and Yipee :)

I'm showing off a card I made a while back with one of my favorite stamps from the DRS Designs catalog, Golf Ball Snowman.  I sent a few of these cards out to the golfers in my family.  Love that plaid hat and scarf combo on him :)

The green panel piece was created using the Open Plaid background stamp and the subtle look was made by stamping in Versamark.  I added a matching ribbon and layered everything onto an embossed snowy background.  The sentiment was taken from the Christmas Multi Greeting, by only inking the one phrase and punching it out.  Lots of layers, and except for the ribbon knot, still relatively flat for mailing :) Speaking of ribbon, have you entered this weeks ribbon challenge?  There's still time!

Peace & Love :)

Christmas Leonard Pig

>> Monday, December 17, 2012

Hi Everyone. My card today features the recently released Christmas Leonard the Pig. I like how he's carrying a huge stack of wrapped presents!

I used my score pal to score a bunch of lines along the cranberry card base. The two panels were stamped in Cranberry Crisp and Handsome Hunter with the Easy Dot background and the new Ho Ho Ho greeting. They are layered on green card stock. Leonard was stamped in black on white card stock and colored with copics. I sponged some cranberry around the edges while he was still in the oval nestie. Some lace stickles were added to his Santa hat. A tiny cranberry ribbon was added to finish the look. Hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by. Remember to check out our weekly challenge. We'd love to have you play along!

Until next time,

Funky Christmas Tree

Hi all, can you believe it’s only 8 more days until Christmas, for me time is going by so fast. I love this time of year.

The card that I have today is a layered card. I used the Funky Christmas Tree, Polka Dot Background, ant the Small Merry Christmas Greeting. I stamped the Funky Christmas Tree and embossed with gold embossing powder on green card stock. I used Smooch in Siren and gold to color in the image. Spellbinder dies were used to cut the layers. I stamped the Polka Dot Background white card with black ink and sponged the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. A MS punch was used to punch the black edging. The white card was sponged with the Walnut Stain ink.

Have a wonderful day,

Christmas Candle

>> Friday, December 14, 2012

by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff

Happy Friday!
Wow! Only a week and change until Christmas! I'm almost finished, just a few more things to take care of, but before internet shopping was so easy, my hubby used to wait until Christmas Eve to start! Can you believe?

I know y'all have seen a lot of this wonderful Bubble Candle Oval this week, but I'm sure they'll give you plenty of great ideas and color schemes to use. I went with a soft palette; gold and blue. The elegance of gold embossing just seemed to go with this image so I gold embossed everything. I thought the Retro Starburst image (on top) and the Argyle Background (on bottom) went w/ it very nicely.  The diamonds in the argyle were stamped w/ a lighter gold ink and I colored the image w/ Copics. I added a die cut banner with the Christmas Blessing greeting across the bottom. The finished ivory card measure 4.25 x 5.50.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Supplies:
stamps: Bubble Candle Oval, 1 Line Christmas Blessing, Argyle Background, Argyle Diamond, Retro Starburst
paper: ivory, blue
ink: Tsukineko Ultimate metallic gold pigment, Brilliance galaxy gold
accessories: gold embossing powder, Spellbinders ovals and labels 4 dies, fishtail banner die

Stained Glass Candle

>> Wednesday, December 12, 2012

Welcome!

As we creep another day closer to the 25th I woke up feeling like things were pretty much under control and that I had a good grip on all my Christmas chores - how cool is that?  Unfortunately this is a VERY mean prank played on me every year right before I find myself running around like a crazy woman trying to get it all done.  It wouldn't be Christmas without chaos in my world!

My card today started because I got some left overs the other day.  You know the foil leftover containers?  Well there was this great big pile of extra foil lids and I suddenly remembered that you could paint on them with glass paint.  I was so excited that as soon as I got to my stamping desk I grabbed my stained glass and got stamping.  I didn't even take the time to decide what was going inside the stained glass!  I did have our religious challenge in mind...

So I stamped the Stained Glass on the foil lid using a blue stazon pad and then carefully dropped in my blue and purple glass paint.  I set that aside to dry and eventually stamped our Jumbo Candle and our Triple Holly on white to color and cut both out (I did an extra holly but only used 1 leaf and berry).  My card base is  white folded card stock that I shaded with lavender and stamped the bottom with our new Christmas Blessing using blue ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by and remember you still have today to post your card for our Religious Challenge and a new challenge starting tomorrow!  HO, HO, HO!

Christmas Blessings

>> Tuesday, December 11, 2012

Hi Everyone,

I knew I wanted to do something different than the usual red and green color combo when I saw this Bubble Candle Oval stamp arrive at my door, and I ended up coloring it in with funky purples and greens. I always love a little something unexpected this time of year, and this would surely be a surprise in my mailbox, among all the typical holiday cards :)

I really brought out the background stamps for this one, using Retro Starburst on the base, Woven Plaid and 4 in 1 Snowflake and Argyle and Argyle Diamond for the two papers.  It's so satisfying to create matching papers from scratch.

I also hand dyed a bit of seam binding and tied it in a bow, and added Stickles and gems for some bling.  Whew, thank goodness there was just enough room left to add the 1 Line Christmas Blessings greeting along the bottom...lol!

I just want to remind you that our Inspired by Religion challenge is still going on.  Link up your card here, for your chance to win!

Thanks for dropping by,

Karin

Merriest Merry!

>> Monday, December 10, 2012

Hi. Can you believe how soon Christmas will be here?!! I am usually closer to being ready for Christmas than I am this year. I think our daughter's wedding last month has thrown me off schedule. But it was worth it!!

Today I have a CAS Christmas card to share. I think all the cards I create between now and Christmas will be clean and simple!!  Anyway this card features the new Merriest Merry sentiment.

The card base is cream with a layer of cranberry. On top of the cranberry is a layer of darker cream that was embossed with the CB snowflake folder. The sentiment was stamped in black on the cream card stock, cut with a square nestie and layered on a scalloped square nestie cut out of the cranberry. Some ribbon and a couple of holly leaves punched with a MS punch finishes the look. I did add some lace stickles to the holly berries.

I also have a gift card holder to share. Our family has a tradition of hiding one gift for each person on the Christmas tree. When the kids were little we hung small toys, but now that they are all grown we hang gift cards. So I try to make different holders for each one. I started with white card stock and stamped the open plaid in real red for a candy cane effect. The little red pieces were embossed with the swirl and swiss dot folders. I used my snowflake nestie to create the snowflake medallion.

I used the same plaid stamp to create the gift card holder on the back along with the A gift for You sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to check out this week's challenge. We'd love to have you join us!

until next time,
shelia

I stamped the Triple Holly and colored it with Copics and cut it out this was attached with a pop dot. The bling was stuck to the bottom of the card.

Happy Day!  I hope everyone is in a festive spirit!  At DRS Designs, you can't help  but be!  I used the 4 in 1 snowflakes image, Happy holidays greeting and Snowman Portrait.  I had a lot of fun making a somewhat traditional card with traditional colors. For the hat, I used some liquird pearls to make it stand out. I hope that you head over to the store to check out all off the wonderful stamps that are for sale this season.

Ho Ho Ho!

by Julie Warner - The Write Stuffhttp://thewritestuff.justwritedesigns.com/?p=11332

Happy Friday!
Christmas is fast approaching and I'm like "oh no! I have so much to do!" It's coming down to crunch time. I only wish I had all my shopping and wrapping done like this little piggy. He must be the one who went to market and I must be the one who stayed home. At least I'm happy to report we did put our lights up outside so we're not the blank spot on our little cul de sac.

For my Piggy Goes Christmas Shopping card, I stamped the Christmas Leonard Pig and Leonard Pig Billboard and colored them w/ Copic markers. I masked the bottom of the billboard and stamped the Ho Ho Ho and made the billboard a tad longer to accommodate the greeting. I also stamped two of the Christmas Lights, colored them and cut them out. Just for a little something extra, I also stamped, colored and cut out a Santa Hat and added it to the Leonard Billboard image.

The red frame was die cut and embossed w/ a herringbone folder then I attached the Billboard Leonard and strings of lights. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Supplies:
stamps: Christmas Leonard Pig, Leonard Pig Billboard, Christmas Lights, Santa Hat, Ho Ho Ho Greeting
paper: white, red
ink: Memento tuxedo black
accessories: Copic markers, Spellbinders mega oval die, Cuttlebug herringbone embossing folder

Christmas Pines

>> Wednesday, December 5, 2012

Hi Everyone!  Jennifer posting here today! Hope December is off to a good start for you and that your hand-stamped Christmas cards are well underway! I'm still working on mine and I'm happy to be sharing one of them with you today.
I started this by stamping the Triple Trees With Snow (004L) with green ink. Then I cut them out with an oval Nestie die and used red Stickles for ornaments or holly berries, however you prefer to think of them! I also added Icicle Stickles to some of the tree branches and snow mounds beneath the trees, which is better seen in the picture below.   I've seen a lot of holiday cards recently using red, white and Kraft so I thought these colors would be good to show off my holiday pine trees.  The White Christmas Text (259P) was stamped with white ink for the background on the Kraft cardstock and the edges were distressed with the same ink for a snowy effect.
The Small Merry Christmas (520D) is a 2-line sentiment, but I cut the words apart and stamped them in one line to fit the sentiment banner using Versamark ink. Then I heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  Next, I embellished the banner with a snowflake punchie fastened with a small silver brad.  Thick red grosgrain ribbon was added to the top of the card front with a big red bow before adhering it to a 4.25" x 5.5" red cardstock base.

Viola! Another easy Christmas card is complete!

Happy Holidays to you!
Jennifer

Merriest Merry Christmas

>> Tuesday, December 4, 2012

Hi Everyone,
I think this Christmas Lamp Post stamp has been a big hit with the DRS Designs design team!  Many of them have shown it off on the blog, so I didn't want to be left out :)  I just love that little glowing candle inside.  All I can think about when I see it, is a long gone, Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol era when I see it.

I colored it with Copics, and paired it with the new Merriest Merry Christmas greeting which I die cut with my Nesties.  Interlocking Snow and Easy Dot Background made up my papers and I added a bit of holiday ribbon.  I think I finally used up my last little snowflake embellishment from the package I bought, so that made the card only that much more happy for me :)

You can check out all of the newest holiday stamps right here

Have a good one!

Christmas Blessing

>> Sunday, December 2, 2012

Well the decorations are up with the help of my sweet little grand children.   The shopping is almost done and I’m trying to decide what I will be cooking this holiday season. I feel that I’m off to a great start.

For my card today I used the new Lamp Post and  Christmas Blessing. I used copic markers to color the Lamp Post. The edge was sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink then a spellbinder die was used to cut out the image. At the base I used Flower Soft, but I did not have any red or green so used my Polar White and Adirondack Alcohol Ink and died my own colors. I used another die and cut out the red layer and sponged on some Walnut Stain Distress Ink while it was still in the die. The Christmas Blessing was stamped and sponged with Antique Linen and layered on to another red die cut that was sponged with Walnut Stain. Everything was layered onto the green card and then a white card.

Have fun getting ready for the holidays and don’t for get to join the Snow Fun challenge.

Have a wonderful day,

Janett
