GONE FISHING...

>> Wednesday, May 30, 2012

Hello Everyone! Have you joined in on the DRS DESIGNS CHALLENGE yet? Today is the deadline, so if you are stamping today you can still play along! All of the details are HERE. This week's challenge is ALL ABOUT THE GUYS! (MASCULINE THEME!)

My top project uses the CUTE Proud Catch Fisherman stamped in black Memento Ink and Colored up with Copic Markers. On the Saffron panel, I stamped the Hiker Boot Prints and then ran the panel through the Nature Embossing folder and sponged with Craft ink. I stamped On Father's Day in Black ink too. I layered it on Craft Cardstock, Baja Breeze and Soft Suede card stock.... I wrapped a leather cording around and tied a knot and added a button with Linen Thread to the top corner....

Now for my second project for the week! This was a FUN one to play with... I started with the Large Circle Spellbinders sprayed with Gold Glow Smooch Sprintz and stamped the Women Are Angels 298G with Black Staz On.

I embossed with Gold Embossing powder using  Interlocking Star background 819H . I colored in the stars using a Gold Prismacolor Pencil, Black and White Gelatos - rubber with Fantastix dampened with water.

I stamped the Broom -from the Witchly Accessories 154E and paper pieced and snipped off boots and hat, using adhesive to adhere all of the pieces together to make sure it all fit together. For the Cat, from the Silhouette Moon and Cat 895F, I fussy cut around the moon (three times). The Fence was a die cut I had on hand.

I adhered all of the pieces together and finished off the project with Gold Viva Pearl Pen.

I hope you enjoyed my project today! Come back tomorrow to see our new challenge! Have a great day!

C.A.S and Funny!

>> Tuesday, May 29, 2012

Hi Everyone,

I chose a clean card design to highlight the funny new Women are Angels greeting stamp available in the new releases section at DRS Designs store.

See?

Ok, are you done laughing yet? lol!

I layered the greeting on some red sticker paper that I coated in red glitter. After stamping the Witchly Accessories,  I chose to only color the hat band and shoes, giving a nod to Dorothy's famous Ruby Slippers, by adding some Stickles to them.

I had some webbed weave in my stash, so I added that to the card for texture,  and three gems were  just to keep it good and girlie.

Ok, head on over to the DRS Designs store to check out what else is new!

Happy Memorial Day

>> Monday, May 28, 2012

Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend celebrating this special day of remembering our service men and women!

Today I have a birthday card to share with you. My daughter in law loves to bake cupcakes so I thought I'd make her a birthday card that features cupcakes. JoAnn's had all their paper crafting supplies half off last week and I bought this EK Success Cupcake Chain punch on sale! I really like it!

The card base is a light green card stock with a layer of white card stock attached. I punched the cupcake chain in the same light green CS three times and added them to the white layer. I colored the icing in light pink with a Copic marker. The main image is DRS Designs sweet cup cake image (463E) which was stamped on white CS with Memento Black ink, colored with Copics and then cut out. I stamped DRS Designs Birthday Wishes (020B) in Memento Black ink on a white nestie circle which is layered on a scallop circle of the green CS. The cupcake was attached above the greeting with a large pop dot to give some dimension. Finally I added some red nail heads to the cupcake chains for the cherries. Hope you like it.

Until next time,
shelia

The strip down the left was made by attaching a piece of drywall mesh before brayering then removing it afterwards. The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Un"frog"ettable Birthday

>> Tuesday, May 22, 2012

Hi Everyone,

DRS Designs has released a new batch of stamps over the weekend, and boy are they cute!  I love all of their greeting stamps because they are fresh, funny and ones that you can't find anywhere else :)

Birthday cards are always the first to disappear from my stash, so they are definitely the ones I make the most. I love a good pun too, so the new Unfrogettable Birthday Greeting fits seamlessly into my existing stash of card making supplies.

I used the Polka Dot background stamp, since it looked kinda like a bumpy frog, and I thought the Singing Frog was a good match with this greeting as well.  I made it easy on myself when it came to the frog.  I stamped him in dark green ink on light green paper and fussy cut him out.  Yup, all I did was color his tongue!

The ribbon had some dots, so that was a natural fit here, and I die cut some letters and added a bit of punny-ness to finish it off :)

Be sure to check the new releases section for all the the great new stamps!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Musical Birthday

>> Monday, May 21, 2012

Happy Monday Everyone. Hope you had a good weekend!

Today I want to share a birthday card created with a couple of newly released stamps from DRS Designs - Marching Band Trumpet (056G) and Beat the Band Birthday (076E). These two stamps pair nicely with the Happy Birthday Music Background stamp (763P).

I started with a black card base and added a red panel that was embossed with the CB Happy Birthday folder. Before attaching the red panel I added the two pieces of red and black ribbon. The music background was stamped in black on white CS and cut out with a nestie. It's layered on a black scalloped circle and attached to the red panel. The Marching Band Trumpet was also stamped in black on white CS, colored with copics and then cut out. He's attached with pop dots for some dimension. The sentiment was stamped in the same black ink on white CS. I cut the sentiment into two pieces, sponged the edges with Real Red ink and then layered them on black CS. They are attached in the corners over the ribbon. To finish it off I added a music clip I found at Hobby Lobby on clearance. Gotta love those sale items!

Until next time,
shelia

Good morning. The card that I’m sharing today was stamped using the new Script Font Background 098P and the just released 1st Anniversary stamp. Women are Angels

>> Saturday, May 19, 2012

Happy Saturday!  I thought I'd share a fun card today.  This new sentiment here at DRS Designs cracks me up and how true is it!.....for me anyway:)
I randomly stamped the 2 line flowers in noir black on vanilla cardstock.  I cut a few extra and paper pieced them for more dimension.  The flowers were colored with apricot appeal and orchid opulence.  A pretty was added with a button and some embroidery thread.  Again, the Women are angels greeting is new and was stamped in black.  Lastly, to throw in a bit of humor, I took the broomstick from the Halloween stamp from the witchly accessories and filled in the area on the broom where the hat had been.  I hope you enjoy my silly card and head on over to check out the new designs in the store.
If you have time, play in our Thursday challenge and make a wedding or anniversary creation.
Take care,
Pam

SAY IT LOUD ENOUGH SNEAK PEEK!

>> Wednesday, May 16, 2012

Hello Everyone - Have you joined in on the DRS Designs Challenge yet??? This week DRS Designs is challenging us to create a project using a "MUSIC FOR YOUR SOUL" theme! You can join us HERE. You have until this afternoon to play along!

I chose some CHEERFUL colors for our Band mate this week! Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White. I stamped the Birthday Sheet Music on White card stock, using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The Band Member (056G) and the Say It Loud Enough (076E) will be a available on Saturday, May 19th! So this is a SNEAK PEEK! I stamped the words in Black Memento Ink and Pacific Point ink... the Band Member, I colored with Copic Markers and attached him to the card stock using Dimensionals after attaching the striped ribbon to the cardstock.

On my second card for the day, I am using the Seaside Dock image and the One Line Happy Birthday. I stamped this on Watercolor Card stock and water colored the image using an Aqua painter and Water color Crayons.

To create the grid, I laid the Garden Green card stock on the Scoring Tool and scored vertically every 1/2". I then turned the card stock at an angle and scored every 3/8". Once I was finished scoring the card stock, I used a White Gel Pen.

I mounted the water color card stock on Not Quite Navy card stock and tied some Linen Thread around the corners. Using Dimensionals, I adhered the card stock to the Garden Green, White and Not Quite Navy Cardstock and inserted White Brads to finish off the card.

Tomorrow we will be issuing a NEW Challenge! I hope you will join us! Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Say it Loud!

>> Tuesday, May 15, 2012

Hi Everyone,

Have you been playing along in our weekly challenges here at DRS Designs?  If you are new to the blog, we host a challenge every Thursday, and this week the theme is "Music for the Soul."  So if you want a chance at some new "rubbah", (there are prizes after all!) join us by clicking here.  We'd love to visit and see what you made :)

So, sticking with the musical theme of the week, here is a sneak peek at some stamps that will soon be released at DRS Designs!

I used the Interlocking Stars Background stamped in white craft ink and some clear embossing powder for the background.  The Band Member was also embossed after stamping, and along with the sentiment, they both will be released this weekend.

I used an embossing folder for the base behind the stamped image and I punched out some stars for embellishments.  The five stars on the blue background were punched out of some paper that I first stamped using the Birthday Sheet Music stamp.  I was trying to tie the whole music and birthday theme together :)  And the red and white speckled strip is a piece of tissue tape.  This card makes me wish my birthday was on July 4th! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you can join us for our challenge!

First Anniversary

>> Monday, May 14, 2012

Trust you all had a great weekend celebrating Mother's Day!! I was able to be in GA with my son, daughter in law and gorgeous granddaughter!!

Today I want to share an anniversary card made with DRS Designs soon to be released Cranes (086L), Script Font background (098P) and First Anniversary sentiment (079E).

The card base is white cardstock with a layer of Bazzil green and a layer of Pretty in Pink. These layers were all punched with the SU ticket corner punch. The pink panel was stamped with the new Script Font Background stamp in Pretty in Pink ink. The main image, the Cranes, was stamped in memento black, colored with copics, sponged with Bashful Blue, cut out and also punched with the same corner punch. This image was layered on green and pink Bazzil paper. Before attaching the image to the card, I punched a strip of white CS with a MS daisy punch and attached it to the center of the card. After attaching the image, I added some half pearls. The First anniversary sentiment was stamped in Memento black on white CS, cut with a nestie and sponged with Pretty in Pink ink. It was attached in the upper right hand corner with foam dots to give some dimension.  Hope you like it.

Be sure to check out this week's challenge here at DRS Designs. We'd love to have you join us!

Hopping Birthday

>> Sunday, May 13, 2012

Good Morning. I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. Today I want to share a fun stamp from DRS designs. The Frog on a log 252H, and the soon to be released stamp Hears Hopping Birthday . I just love these stamps.

For my card I used the wax paper resist technique for the background. You use glossy card stock, cut to size that you will need. I sponged the card stock with Antique Linen Distress Ink. Take a piece of wax paper and wrinkle it as much as you want. Lay it on top of your glossy card stock then I covered it with a clean piece of  paper. With a hot iron, iron the sandwich lightly, not for to long. Remove the glossy card. Then I sponged Peeled Paint Distress Ink over the entire card.

I stamped the cute Frog on a log 252H onto white paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I cut a cloud mask and used my air brush to spray the sky. Then I used my trusty copic marker to color the image. On another piece of white card stock I stamped the Hopping Birthday with the Tuxedo black ink then I used a rectangle spellbinder die and cut the image out, keeping the image in the die I sponged peeled paint Distress ink. Both images were layered onto dark brown card stock. I layered the background paper onto dark brown card. Then wrapped jute string around and tied a bow. This was attached to a light green card. The frog image was pop up and the greeting was attached to the card front.

Have a wonderful day,

Janett

Engagement time

>> Saturday, May 12, 2012

My card this morning features 3 fabulous stamps from DRS Designs.  The engagement sentiment is a sneak peek of our new release and the vertical congrats was this month. The first love cute pie kids is just so sweet and I think goes great with the sneak sentiment.  I colored the image with a variety of SU! markers, sponged real red around the edges of main image.  The hearts are glitter smooch paint but alas, I wasn't able to photograph that!  Some artichoke ribbon and a fun brad help to complete the card.
We have some fabulous stamps over at the DRS Designs store, so come shopping!

Engagement Congrats

>> Friday, May 11, 2012

by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff

Happy Friday!

I hope you've had a terrific week! This card features a sneak peek at a new Engagement sentiment. The card itself is pretty clean and simple because I really wanted the sentiment to take the center stage. I had die cut this leafy flourish for another card and the reverse (piece left over ) cut was just sitting there and I thought it would make a lovely backdrop with a little light gray card stock behind it. I used an edge die to cut the right side before attaching to my 4.25 x 5.50 white card. The peach bow adds just the right touch of color.

Thanks so much for looking! Have a great weekend!

Supplies:
stamps: Engagement Congrats (coming soon!)
