Happy Friday!Have y'all checked out the DRS Designs Thursday Challenge? Just create a card using Snowflakes and link it up to challenge post. Easy as pie! And with your link, you'll be in the drawing for some fabulous images!
For my card today, I'm continuing the snowflake theme. I just love these cute little penguins. Such happy little guys! For most of us so far, it's been a really mild winter so snowflakes aren't even in the forecast. Not yet...anyway. Wherever these guys are, there is snow! I tried to use frosty colors to enhance the snowflakes and to me, the colors always look wintry. I really only used two stamps for this: the let it snow penguins and the interlocking snow background. After stamping and coloring the penguins, I die cut them and added some purple strips adorned w/ punched snowflakes. The 5.50 x 4.25 white card front was stamped w/ the snowflake bg using two colors of ink. I also stamped the snowflakes using the purple ink onto the lt blue panels. More punched snowflakes were added on top of an embossed snowflake circle.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a Happy New Year!!

by the chimney with care... Well, Hello Everyone, this is Chrissy D here! My family has a long drawn out Christmas celebration. With family scattered through out the States, we see them all different days! This is good and bad... good because we can prolong the celebration, bad for the waistline! :)
I just love this is "I Scene a Stocking" stamp from DRS Designs. I stamped this on White Neenah cardstock and colored it with my Copic Markers. Using a Glassy glaze, I added White Flower Soft on the cuff.
I used a Stocking Punch for the additional stockings and stamped the Starry background in Red Ink and the Open Plaid Background with White Craft Ink. I used a Signo White Gel Pen to add the faux stitching. I added the Water Colored Dew Drops along the button with some Mini Glue Dots to finish off the card!
It will be next year (week!) before I talk to you again! Have a wonderful day!!!

Today I'm sharing a New Year's card made with DRS Designs Wishing you Happiness (387G). When I think of the new year I think of new beginnings, and new beginnings always makes me think of butterflies. So I used butterflies on this card.
The banner strips are stamped in Not Quite Navy ink with the butterflies from DRS Designs 4 in 1 Background (385M). The sentiment is stamped in Stazon Black, then cut with a square nestie. I layered the sentiment on a spellbinder Fleur De Lis Pendant and added a couple of light blue butterflies with half pearls.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas yesterday! And I wish you all 365 days of Happiness!!
Until next time,

The Snowflake Scroll 875f was stamped and embossed with silver on a navy panel.
I hope Santa brought you everything you wished for and everyone is well and happy.

Skating Away
>> Friday, December 23, 2011
by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff

Are you ready? I always plan to be ready ahead of time. Best laid plans, right! Like this happy little fellow, my best plans are skating away, but at least the happy thought is there!
For my skating scene, everything except the cut out and added penguin was done on the one layer. I started by stamping the tree line then masking the snow and sponging the sky. There's just something about a pink winter sky that I really like so I tend to use this color for winter skies. I flipped the mask to cover the sky and sponged in some snow w/ a lt blue ink. All except the pond. I penciled in where I wanted it and left it white. A little shading was added around the trees w/ markers.
After I determined where my skater would go, I stamped him again on the plastic sheet of my SAMJ (stamp-a-ma-jig), lined up the foot under where his right foot is, masked the edge of the pond, and stamped the reflection using the image on the SAMJ sheet as the stamp. It's really harder to describe than it is to do. It's just a simple reflection technique. After that, I covered the pond using a VersaMark pen and embossed w/ clear powder twice. Then I added a few scribbles w/ a white Permapaque marker and embossed w/ another coat of clear ep. We used to call this super embossing. It really makes it look like an icy pond.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Y'all have a very Happy Holiday!!

Six Days Til Christmas!!
>> Monday, December 19, 2011
Wow, it's the last week before Christmas. And I'm still making Christmas cards!! I only need a couple more. :-)
The card I am sharing today uses the adorable Penguin Snowball Blast (966K) from DRS Designs. I just love this stamp. Today I've stamped it in Memento Black, colored it with Copics and then used stickles all over the igloo and snowballs. I love the sparkle!!
I used nesties to cut out the frames and a MS holly punch for the corners. Since there's no room on the front for the sentiment, I put that inside this card.
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

Christmas Joys
>> Friday, December 16, 2011
by Julie Warner - The Write Stuff
Not too many days left until Christmas! And what a difference a year makes. This time last year, we were freezing... today the temp was almost 70 degrees! Very weird! I don't know about you, but I like it to be cold around Christmas. At least sweater weather.
So to put me in the mood, I made a snowy white card. This one is pretty clean and simple. I stamped the vertical trees w/ green ink and die cut w/ a long rectangle. The greeting and single tree were stamped on the smaller die cut panel and I lined up the tree and stamped it again on the larger panel. Added a few red lights (or berries) and some red stickles to the trees.

So tell me, do you prefer your Christmas cold or not? And did you check out Thursday's Challenge? Surely you'd like a chance for free stamps!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Supplies:
stamps: Joy of Christmas greeting, Single Fall Tree, Vertical Triple Trees, Holy Family Manger Scene (the star only)
paper: white
ink: Archival library green, Brilliance rocket red
accessories: Tombow red marker, red stickles, Spellbinders long rectangles & labels 18, rhinestone Read more...

SMILE!
>> Wednesday, December 14, 2011
Hello Friends! This is Chrissy D here! Welcome to the DRS Designers Blog today! I love this little snowman - he really makes me SMILE! This card was so fun to make. I do not know about you, but I can get stuck in a "color" rut and use the same colors all of the time. Red is one of my favorite colors, so that is one I use a lot! I tried a new color scheme for this card instead of the "traditional" winter whites and blues which is what I would gravitate towards to create a wintery feel. I took the Marina Mist card stock and ran it through the Big Shot with the snowflakes cuttlebug folder. Once the card stock was embossed, I sponged it with the White Craft Ink.
I stamped the Heart Swag Snowman with Memento Ink (Tuxedo Black) and colored him with my Copic Markers. I started cutting out the cute snowman but ran out of space, so I placed the remaining heart on the top of the die cut. I used the Spellbinders Elegant Ovals die to stamp the Snowmen Smiles Greeting on and tied a big Satin Red Bow along the bottom portion of the card. Using Mini Glue Dots, I added three Dew Drops in the upper left corner of the card.
I hope you enjoyed my card today! Have a wonderful day and enjoy this Christmas Season!

Merry December 12th
>> Monday, December 12, 2011
Trust everyone had a good weekend. I had hoped to spend the weekend finishing off a project, but unfortunately I got sick and accomplished very little. :-( But I am much better today and ready to get busy!!
The card I'm sharing today features two recent releases called Girl Swirl Holly (887G) and Joy to the World (864E). I stamped the holly on white card stock with Memento black and colored it with my copics. The sentiment is stamped in black on the cranberry panel. After attaching the Girl Swirl Holly to the top of the panel, I added the holly ribbon. The white background was embossed with a CB folder. I added a cranberry panel to the side after punching a MS border to finish the look. This was a pretty quick and easy card to make.
Be sure to join in the weekly challenge here at DRS Designs. This week you have to use polka dots on your card. The winner of the week's contest receives some cute DRS Stamps! Hope you can join us!

Good morning. Wow what a busy week this has been. The card that I’m sharing with you today is made
with a very cute stamp Penguin Snowball Blast 966k and 4 in 1 snowflake, this stamp is so versatile. I stamped the Penguins on white card and colored with copic markers, then I add some glitter to the igloo. I cut out around the image and mounted it on a oval added some punched branches with a little flower soft. On a blue card I stamped the 4 in 1 snowflake with light blue chalk ink. And you have a cute quick card.
